Apparently do the same thing, can someone explain to me what to do in the case of lets say a grey knights weapon thats not only force but sactified, what does this actually do for him besides on paper make him look stupid for redundant upgrades to his weapon?
force weapons and the sactified quality
iirc daemons and similar entities cannot even hold a sanctified weapon. Not so with force weapons. Also, sanctified weapons might interact with Warp Instability in a way that force weapons don't.
Yeah, I noticed that too as the big benefit in DW from sanctified weapons is that they ignore daemonic improved toughness upgrades, which force weapons also do. I don't have the core DH book (I picked up Daemonhunters to use GK in my DW campaign) but the definitions for them might be different in there. The four 40k RPG systems are similar and related but not identical.
I'm not too familiar with sanctified weapons.
Force weapons though, still have the psychic force attack. The one you make a psychic test and do massive extra damage.
If sanctified weapons does not have this ability then theres your difference.
Sanctified weapons ignore Daemonic TB extra levels, force weapons don't. Only the damage from channeling ignores armour and TB and I can tell you that it is exceedingly difficult to channel into Daemon Princes without pushing or being high level.
Example:
A force sword attack without sanctified hits a daemon prince at a psy rating of 6 (and at SB 10). It does 1d10+18 - (12 (daemonic TB) + (12 - 8 (effective armour))) for 1d10 + 2 damage. Since the librarian does at least 1 damage point he can channel energy and thus he gets to do additional 1d10 damage per net DoS which goes straight to wound points. Effectively you get to add it straight to the damage already done.
A force sword attack with sanctified hits a daemon prince at a psy rating of 6 (and at SB 10). It does 1d10+18 - (8 (non-daemonic TB) + (12 - 8 (effective armour))) for 1d10 + 6 damage. Since the librarian does at least 1 damage point he can channel energy and thus he gets to do additional 1d10 damage per net DoS which goes straight to wound points. Effectively you get to add it straight to the damage already done.
It's like Felling(1) only against Daemons. Which means Felling(1) is sadly better. Daemons should be immune to Felling.

Sanctified grants holy which does the same thing to daemonic toughness as force weapons in DW (pg. 130); they actually do the exact same damage which is the point that the OP is making.
So I've read all applicaple rules.
Sanctified weapons deal Holy damage (but possibly do not count as holy themselves).
Holy weapons (and holy damage) ignores the Toughness modifier provided to daemons from their "daemonic" talent.
Sanctified weapons have no other special rules.
Force weapons also ignore the Toughness modifier provided to daemons from their "daemonic" talent.
Force weapons also increase the penetration of the weapon based on Psy rating.
Force weapons allow for an opposed psy test after dealing damage to a target to deal even more damage.
So, they aren't exactly the same, are they?
Yeah, overlooked that, sorry.
Maybe Holy damage should ignore all Unnatural Toughness levels. Would make it better than Felling(1) too.

^this. also my point is just why? sacntified force weapon ? "force force sword" is what weve taken to calling it at my table as its just redundant, and i cant really think of anywhere youd lose one and have the other short of the librian dropping his weapon and another member of the KT stabbing something with it.
Their are demonic traits that protect against force weapons but none that protect against santicfied ones, Grey Knight force weapons are sanctified so that they can still hurt the bigger Khorne daemons with these traits.
