So heres the issue ive noticed, you can if you have this distinction activate any ablilty you have with out cost and sustain it (if sustained) even if you hit 0 cohesion. problem is you fall out of squad mode at 0 so how does this work? can i not break them out of squad mode? 750xp to ba-lete devistating weapons from the problem list of the players seems OP.

You don't fall out of squad mode even though you have cohesion 0 then. You cannot break them out of squad mode then. Note that the players must have triggered the ability before cohesion drops to 0. If Perils of the Warp suddenly causes a Daemon Prince to appear they are already at 0 and the ability can be used because the fear has been sowing confusion already. The text says he can maintain the ability at cohesion 0, not that he can still trigger it.
Not OP, especially since distinctions aren't something the players can pick-and-choose but get made available by the GM.

because the distinction doesnt say that you keep squad mode active only the ability.
also alex, once i got the book my table was nearly rank 4, to give them access to the book i gave them a rewrite using nearly anything including distinctions of choice (with approval) and the defacto leader of the party took the ability. as he had been leading and playing the squad leader aptly I didnt see an issue with them selecting this distincinction I also had several limiters as to how you could get a dist tinction to make them very very costly(i belive he spent nearly 2k for that one and a couple others). Im not willing to go so far as to call it a mistake as a rules vauge spot in the squad mode vs solo mode rules.

They can't be in Solo Mode and benefit from a squad mode ability. They can be in Squad Mode and benefit from passive Solo Mode abilities. In the case of BotB, they then need to choose whether they want to drop out or not.
