Edited by finitesquarewell****! I'm sad to miss this.
Sounds like it would be fun. I won't say I'm automatically in, but there's a good chance I'll throw down over whiskey or beer.
Erick, this is a great idea. Cube drafting and construction was my favorite part of playing MTG back in the day. I can only assume that this is the fruition of the materials I saw you purchasing at GenCon.
I'd love to cube whenever I'm around and not jousting, which, unfortunately, won't be much. I may have to settle for observing the shenanigans.
You kids and your crazy cube drafts.
Erick, I'm uncomfortable with how easily you can "imagine" me. But yeah, I'm in. As long as everyone reminds me to put my drink on the floor at Senser's.

It's a good thing it's not a girl, or you'd never hear the end of it.
I might be in for Saturday morning drafting depending on start time. Let me know.
Yyyeeeeppp...
I have mine (~the ORIGINAL aGoT cube) ready to go as well, and it has room for 10 I just confirmed. All order cards, with the exception of banned/restricted cards since we don't get to play with them as much (was my logic).
As Erick said, cube drafting is a TON of fun, and can also help to bring newer players into the game. It is hard not to draft awesome cards.
I'm really sad to be missing the cube draft. Erick has been updating me on it's growth/development over the past few months, and it sounds like an amazing collaborative work. (He really did go to town with the red marker by the way, "improving" upon lackluster design by adding icons/keywords, reducing costs, etc.)
Great stuff...I'm excited to hear how it goes!
Newish to the game, but sounds like fun. I'd probably be in.
Does anybody have a list for their cube that they'd be willing to share?
Also, I'm fascinated to see some of these red-markered cards... care to share a few shots of your most 'inspired' upgrades?
Although I just started playing the game, I am interested in participating in the draft.
I won't pass on the melee, but I'd be up for it.

my cube involves a healthy amount of black marker errata
A healthy amount? Does that mean you drew horns on my picture on Knights of the Hollow Hill? Or you drew a beard on Luke's picture on Pinch of Powder? Perhaps you made Blackfish more accurate my using the black marker to put glasses on your own mug?
I think some quote bubbles would also rock. Please tell me you did this. First Snow of Winter is an incomplete card without Mathlete exclaiming something in a giant quote bubble while getting raped by a wight.

This. OMG This .
I happen to have a First Snow with a quote bubble done by the designer of that card

Exactly!!! Which means you are playing with a legal version of the card.

The consensus that seems to be building is for two cube drafts: one at Joe Senser's on Saturday night (Nate emailed me to reserve a few spots for this one), and another one in the morning on Sunday at the FFG event center (we'll make this happen if enough people tell me and Matt that they want to stick around Sunday morning for a cube draft).
Matt won't be sticking around on Sunday morning. We will be leaving by 8 am or so.

Edited by finitesquarewellDarn, looks like I'm out. I only got a two day pass from our store, and not sure how late I can stay out Saturday night. Maybe some other time.

Not to derail the thread, but as one of "those guys" who asks former champions to sign their cards, I find it highly entertaining that they usually deface their own pictures, from Luke's beard to Erick's handlebar mustache. Greg I believe "just" wrote something disparaging about Flea Bottom on KOTHH.
Is it sad that the biggest reason I'm excited for champion card reprints is so I can see how they'll vandalize themselves?
