Who thinks the new plot in "Trial by Combat" looks awesome?
Excuse me if this is redundant
Awesome. Awesome to the max.
I'm actually a big fan of title manipulation, but will it get as much play as plot manipulation?
I like it alot. I think GoT is a very good multi-player game and the Titles are one of the reasons why. Joust may have its appeal but the game loses something without the titles.
Just curious, but how would this plot play out in, say, a 4-person game where 3 people drop this on the same turn? I know it's probably not a huge possibility, but it's the first thing that came to my mind. I'm guessing initiative would decide whoever didn't get their second title.

Yeah, the first player (as determined by whoever wins initiative) would get to choose first, and the second player next.
I would wonder how it would affect a 3 player variant. In the rules for 3 player melee, you don't return the titles after odd numbered rounds.
Also, it seems pretty intricate how supports would work. Looks like you could have multiple players support you, or support the person who supports you, etc.
NEAT. Thats all I can say.
I'm wondering how it would work if you're both enemies AND support that player. Would the support be active? Or would the enemies be active? Would they cancel each other out? I don't understand that part.
Why should one cancel the other?
Assuming there is a player who has both a title you support and a title you oppose, the support will prevent you from attacking him and allow you to defend challenges against him he doesn't defend, while the opposing will give you 1 power for winning a challenge against him (he can still attack you, since support is not mutual).
How would it work in 3 player game?
You normaly on first round pick up titles from 6 and then on second round from 3 not chosen in round 1. What would happen if you have only 3 title remaining and someone plays it ?

Since less than 3 titles remain, all the titles would be able to be picked next round
First player decides the order that passives resolve, so he could cut someone out if more people reveal this plot than there are second titles to select.
In a three player game the title pool does not refresh until the end of the round when there won't be enough available titles to choose from. So it would need to be done on a turn when you have more than three titles to choose from.
Game Variants
Three Players
When playing a three player game, multiplayer
title cards are not returned to the title pool until
the end of a game round in which the title pool is
empty. This means that in the first game round,
the players each select one of the six titles, leaving
three titles unclaimed, still in the pool. The
selected titles are not returned at the end of the
first game round, and in the second game round
the players will choose from the three titles they
did not select in the first game round. (These titles
replace their previously selected titles.) Then,
at the end of the second game round, all six titles
are returned to the pool for possible selection in
the third game round.
It doesnt say anything about not doing it that way if there are less than 3 titles remaining, although I think thats how you'd have to treat it.
Is that how most people play 3 player melee? I think I've only played two 3-player games, one with those rules, one without.
I've got to say, that plot makes me absurdly excited for melee. I think utilizing the Titles above and beyond their mere existence (as they have been for years at this point) is a fantastic place to go. And, I think, anything that can be used to alter or manipulate the structure of a melee game like this is likely go help balance out several of the factors of melee that some players find negative.
This Plot looks incredible and is just another selling point for this very promising block. I love the idea of interaction with teh titles - it offers deep staretgic possibilities.

Stag plays melee whenever he gets the chance, he usualy doesn't do well because you know im at the table
Title manipulation seems awesome.
You could essentially have a redirect, make a player support you, and oppose a player all in the same turn
