My current party set up is two forsaken, one chosen, a psyker, and myself a heretek. I'm wondering what are some decent ways to deal decent damage with the heretek? I am going for a heretek that is a nimble gunslinger with deft senses and the ability to maintain the party with healing and repairs. What are some things I get buy or get to help improve damage, ballistic skill, tech use, medicae use, and deftness? If you've ever played Gears of War I'm sort of going for the Kanthus feel with the exception of the ability to make and repair things.
Starting new campaign, requesting help
You're really trying to be everything at once, you really should focus more at one thing at a time. Less Gears and more Cogs.
hardly!
I am playing a Heretek and wiping the floor when it comes to any knowledges or languages, and am tough in combat, quite fast initiative wise and also can deal high damage. How?
I started with high Int, but bought it up higher so it now stands at 60. I take a cerebral implant as one of your heretek implants - it gives you unnatural Int, providing a bonus degree of success whenever you pass an Int based skill. then i took Infused Lore which means i can treat all Lore skills as trained (known, but the system interchanges the words due to lazy copy/paste jobs).
Then i took Polyglot so i can attempt to understand and speak any language i come across (largely only possible due to the high Int, but still very useful!).
I had a Cursed heirloom at start, in this case a suit of Light Power armour which in combination with Armour Monger talent means i have a tasty 9 AP on all locations. I also got hold of the implant that gives you the Machine Trait (forget the name of it) giving me more armour rating and immunity some mental sources of anguish.
Finally the power axe you start with is good if you add in the Str bonus from power armour and take the Weapon Tech talent, allowing you to add your Int bonus in damage and pen to a single attack per combat. It means that for my 'power strike' i get something crazy like 1d10+21 pen 11.
As for your idea of being more of an agile type of gunslinger... just take ballistic mechadendrites and put plasma pistols in them then ignore personal arms.
