Daemon Weapons

By Letrii, in Dark Heresy

It doesn't say power weapons can't be daemon weapons, however I noticed if you make a power fist into a daemon weapon it has chance of being even more powerful than a multi-melta.

Normal (Str 60) 2d10 + 12 E Pen 8

Bound Daemon (WP 40) 2d10 + 16 E Pen 12

Hell Spite 2d10 +28 E Pen 12

Is this unbalanced?

or just

Powerfist + Daemon = priceless :)

up to you really (it is DH)

Daemons can possess most things - there is a great example of a possessed tank in The Armour of Contempt acting completely like a feline predator which means it behaves VERY strangely for a tank....................

Daemons may make great weapons but perhaps not always in the wielders best interests ( Stormbringer anyone?)

Never read those 2 books, who wrote them?

Thankies

blah blah blah

Well what about combining a Force Weapon with a Daemon Weapon? Now that would be a deadly combination!

To make it even more interesting, have the power fist used by an untouchable. He would be immune to possession attack if mastery test fails, or could he not use a daemon weapon?

Of course he can! You actually gave me a VERY evil thought about an arch-nemesis... demonio.gif

If you wanna be really evil. Voidborn noble Str 2d10+20+5(Battlefleet Calixis)+20 (Characteristic Advances)+10 (forget name of pact from DotDG)+20 (power armor)=77-95 str

Possible results with Hell Spite

2d10+32 E Pen 12

2d10+36 E Pen 12

2d10+40 E Pen 12

Altough firstly I want to write, that untouchtable with daemon-weapon-powerfist seems far too crazy and unlogical, after remembering Exterminatus comic (by BOOM! Studios), with Chaos Cult employed pariah, I must admitt it´s pretty cool idea. Still I´m not completely sure if it is totaly possible, for A/ at least old Inquisitor rules disallow daemonising power weapons (I´m not sure how it´s in DotDG, must check my copy) and for B/ wouldn´t the Pariah touching/wielding daemon weapon banish/hurt badly (and so "disable", twitching and screaming weapon doesn´t seem to be very useful) the entity bound inside?

It just says usually archaic melee weapons, but more exotic and even ranged weapons are possible. Didn't see any restrictions on it, except previous section about pentagrammic wards not working on daemon weapons.

I'd be more worried about a butter knife with the right rolls than a tech-weapon of any kind without them.

00 is pretty much a Drach'nyen level killfest. For those of you not playing the wargame, Drach'nyen is a daemon weapon wielded by the Arch-Heretic Abaddon, which at one point had the rule of rupturing tanks without a roll. Let alone infantry.

Aside from the OTT measure here, this raises an interesting point...DotDG says that Untouchables are immune to effects of psychic powers that directly affect them and all that guff...but it doesn't say if they can use a Daemon Weapon or not...any thoughts?

Not sure on the rules - although I would allow a Daemon Power weapon I would probaly rule it inert or even damaged if wielded by a blank or untouchable.............but thats just my game....................

Inquisitor may be sub-par in many areas, but at least it has rules covering this situation.
