Hi guys

I'm looking for some examples of xenos/warp-driven whatever technology, that can act as the goal of a kill-team mission where the team has to land on a defunct forgeworld and claim the item for the deathwatch. Of course lots of other agents of both the imperium and chaos has similar ideas.

What im looking for, is something that is portable enough that someone could carry it himself, while still having strategic value of some kind - the old STC is kinda done to death I guess, so Im turning to you What possible piece of technology could both the deathwatch, the mechanicus, a crazed radical inquisitor and several agents of chaos want to take over?

SOMETHING C'TAN!!!!

Nah, that's just my personal preference. But it could easily be some sort of C'tan powersource that any xenotech obsessed Inquisitor/Chaos group would give several planets for.

Or you could have some sort of Tyranid egg that enhances plant growth massively -have some sort of penalty to carrying it and the possibility that it can 'wake up' and start growing plants into people. Or some sort of ancient eldar forseeing device, or a C'tan phase blade if you're really out of ideas. A Necron Warscythe is always fun, or it could be a piece of Old One Tech, somesort of genetic manipulator that could be used to create a poison to stop the Tyranid threat once and for all - or mutate an entire planet, depending on how you roll. It could be some sort of Warp Cage for a Greater Daemon with all sorts of warpy powers - I'm running a mission at the moment with a warp cursed set of dice that grant insane luck and extra fate points, with an Obliterator, two Inquisitors, the Kill Team, an Ork Mek-Boy, some Dark Eldar and a Chaos Sorcerer all jonesing for them.

Think future Tech: a backpack sized self sustaining prototype portable Tau generator able to power an entire strike vessel (got that from Iron Man's arc reactor). Said tech is located in hands of deep seeded Tau space. Mechanicus wants to seize it to dismantle for examination, Chaos wants it to power their nefarious purposes, Deathwatch could benefit from it powering their watch stations.

Think Xenos Warp Tech: a portable gateway artifact that an inquisitor has researched extensively. This artifacts is archaic and ancient, which is in the hands of a formidable shadow seer eldar harlequin. The inquisitor has reason to believe it leads to the Black Library. The Inquisitor wants to get to the black library, the forces of Slaneesh are on his/her toes, think about what the deathwatch could learn from said library.

Think Forbidden Tech: (Got this from the Hunt for Voldorius). A living weapon recorded to have decimated a cluster of planets is said to have been detected in one of the neighbouring sectors. Said weapon is nano technology predating the dark age of technology.

It is recorded to be able to infect and propagate in organic creatures as it is carbon based. The host becomes a walking timebomb as they are able to infect other carbon based organic life forms. The kill team has to race to find the trigger and prevent said weapon from decimating a cluster or in the process become carriers themselves. A chaos sorceror/ chaos lord has learnt of this and has made a pact to some fell daemon. By sacrificing an entire sector, he would gain apotheosis and ascension to daemonhood.

As it goes for Xenos tech that the adeptus mechanicus would want to study or acquire. More C'Tan Phase Blades, Necron gauss rifles, Tau rail guns, Ork Teleportas and other technology that you don't see widely used in the Imperium. Hell even the Lightning Staff of an Ork Weirdboy would be a prize to take back for the imperial labs to study, or for a librarian to sanctify in the name of the emperor and take as his own.

A forgotten Webway or Dolman gate.

Lost from even the Eldar, the gate would allow whoever captured it unequaled mobility. This could be a way to bring in Eldar, Dark Eldar, or Necrons in as foes.

The Admech would want it for study, and maybe they found something they want in the Webway it'self. With it's study, it might be possible to repair or close the gate under the throne room. Taking pressure off the GEOM Himself.

The Radical could want it for similar reasons, or maybe the Inquisitor wants to treat with the gate's makers.

Chaos could want it for an Inside job, attacking a Craft or Tomb world. Or maybe they even want to bring chaos to the Dark City.

The Kill-team could want to destroy the gate, to delete it's strategic value. Or capture it, perhaps for study, perhaps as a weapon, or even a way to get KTs where they need to be much faster. The Deathwatch would be interested though.

A very illegal and heretical AI.

A geological survey and location of a new/forgotten star-system which harbours planets that are either habitable, inhabited, or have vast mineral wealth.

Any piece of Xeno tech which might be reverse engineered.

The mathematical seed for a foe's cryptographic system.

Remnants of history, otherwise lost. A third play by Shakespeare, or the annuls of a Chapter who had lost part of their records.

A viral strain or chemical weapon.

An antidote or cure. Medical research that will benefit the Imperium.

A better mousetrap.
