I agree with you I think its still needs some sort of answer to mentoring hopefully when set 12 comes out we can get some outs so it can be a mono played symbol once again.

I noticed something.

Dan's Dragon Punch is the biggest printed damage on an attack in Block 3 for Void.

Something's telling me to play Dan2... hmm...

Anyways, Void in Block 3 will be Tier 1.5 at the best, until it gets something like Oral Dead, Lotus, Chester's( which should have had Void on it ), Charismatic, or Inhuman Perception it will get eaten up by Order and Evil. I'm not saying Void is bad, just not Tier 1, I love Void its my favor symbol probably. But hey if it works for you by all means play it your hearts content. I would love to see Yoga Master come back hehe.

I strongly disagree that Void needs negation to be top-tier. It needs something that discourages (ie Blinding Rage) or effectively destroys Olcadan's (for the latter, I'm thinking anything short of an asset with "E Commit: If your attack deals damage, destroy 1 asset" won't be enough), and it needs {for the current format} some degree of control pieces, and it needs its own niche. You could argue that it does Ways of Punishment better than any other symbol, between Soiree's ready and Ken/Sogetsu ready tech, but Earth has Clean Rematch, Kyoshiro on top of Jivatma's stuff -- Earth does it well enough.

I wonder if reprinting Emptiness+anti-Olcadan's would do enough for Void...

Emptiness returning is an absolutely horrible idea and you know it xD

Void is very, very good right now as is. All it actually needs is a way to counter Olcadan's (one card, since discard has always been Void's thing; or for people to dual-symbol with it) in order to be top tier again. It already has stupidly good discard, as well as plenty of draw power and both forms of hard enhance negation (NoMems and Evil-Doer Destroyer).

If Revenant's Calling had Void on it, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Ditto Chester's Backing/Inhuman Perception.

I've decided to place a legal version of Ryu (either Battle Pack Ryu6 or Domination Ryu9), Starter Ken, and Chester in front of me facedown, shuffle them up, and then have someone pick my character for me like that. Any of them are going to be insanely good. Might even add Voldomar to the mix.

I was thinking about running 1CC Akuma, using Instant Hell Murder and Realm of Midnight, but I just realized that Tough Outer Shell has Void on it, so I'm switching back to :::Ryu:::

Gotta use Seichu Nidan Tsuki before it rotates. It has been my favorite attack since I started playing.
