Live In Texas?

By Gummy Bear, in UFS General Discussion

Do you live in the southeast Texas region and want to play UFS? Let me know.

Do you live somewhere else in Texas but are willing to make the drive? Let me know.

I'm always looking for new players in my area to play UFS with, as well as possible other, good locations to play UFS at.

I'm in Lubbock Texas, and we throw down to have fun....

I'm from ze DFW area. We sometimes head down to Austin to play with the much more sizeable group down there (they've got almost a dozen people now?), so a trip to your area is probably not out of the question. Feel free to talk to our scout and we can set something up or somesuch. Rawrufs!

Oyeah...you guys should totally come to the regional we're having in May =D

I'm actually getting things worked out, so me and my playgroup should be able to make the Texas regionals in May. Hopefully, nothing gets in the way of that. At any rate, I'm sure meeting halfway wouldn't be out of the question either, so neither party would have to drive the full four hours or so. However, if you're simply looking for the road trip and want to drive all the way down here for UFS, that would be fine by me as well.

I live in San Antonio, and our playerbase is dead :(

Please help us

You killed them, didn't you, Shinji?! =O

Yeah, that's cool. I've no idea what's in-between (I can't even remember where Spring IS, other than a bit north of Houston), sooo...yeah. Nubian_God is our scout, and he lurks about the forums a bit. Hopefully he'll see this and be all "Commence to jigglin'!" and we'll be set.

Nah, didn't kill 'em; they quit to play Dragon Ball =/

We have like, a few players. Me, 3 friends, like 2 people at the store, so all in all, we have a very loose 6-player militia. Beh...I want our giant playgroup back. I miss when people from Austin and Dallas would travel to our store :(

If I could help you from all the way down here, I gladly would. From about April of 2008, til around November of 2008, the player base in the Houston, Spring, and Conroe area was down the toilet. I was able to salvage what players I could and told them their scout was back (me), as well as letting my players know, that we would be continuing tournaments and events soon. So, I was able to convince most of my old playgroup to come back. But still, we only have around six players as well, and I wish I knew where to find more players or fresh recruits. I guess I just haven't been fishing in the right part of the lake.

On a different note, I know who nubian_god is. I've commented in a few of his topics, mainly the ones about the Texas regionals. I'll let him know about this topic, and I'll try to work something out for a meeting soon.

I'm from El Paso and our playerbase just got started recently(Though I have been playing since Set 1) and right now we have about 6-12 players (about 8 Regularly)

I think that we could probably manage a full 32-person regional if everyone in Texas who played came. I know there's the new Lubbock group, plus Amarillo, El Paso, Austin, San Antonio, Houston area, and ourselves. Wheeee!

By the way - anybody else going to the GCC?

Oh, we're not afraid of a lil' driving. Especially after GenCon... >> But yeah, hit me up and we'll try to get something worked out. I've been wanting to get at least one day a month where we (the Dallas playgroup) would go out of town to play. This could be a great excuse. ([email protected])

Most def. It sucks to hear things going the way they are. I remember the FoP like it was yesterday. That was crazy....

But yeah, things have been crazy up here, so it kinda hampered with travels. Have Josh hit me up so we can try to get something going on. Like I said above, I want to get an active monthly tour going on, and a San Antonio stop is past overdue.

Well, you're always welcome in the Spring area if you're looking to make monthly trips to play UFS. We can discuss specifics through email, if you'd like.

Just a heads-up; there's Pre-Registration info for the Texas Throwdown Regional. Check it out if you're interested in attending.

Ya, I sent the email to you a little while ago. I have some of my other friends/playgroup people who might sign up too. I don't wanna be the only Houston person there o_O.

Just a shout-out that there's 9 days left to pre-register for the Texas Throwdown and get a Soul Calibur support foundation, so if you're interested hop over to the Fan Announcements and get it done!

Where do you folks play in Austin?

Here's the name and address:

BattleForge Games
2700 West Anderson Lane, Suit 402
Austin, TX 78757
512-323-9600

They usually throw down every Friday night. If you're interested, toss me an e-mail at [email protected] and I'll thow it the Austin scout's way (I don't know how he feels about people giving out his e-mail, hence this method).

Hiii everyone. Im from the austin play group :D . We usually just play casual decks, its usually more fun wihtout chesters and stuff because not everyone even owns a copy :o . Our support has been kinda crappy for a really long time or our scout is holding out on us. Anyone have the same problem? Sometimes we dont even have support to give out!!!! Anyways to 433 is there another UFS card playing group in austin?!?

I won't be showing up anytime soon, as I live in Minnesota. However, I'm down in Austin every year for a film festival. I haven't been to Battleforge, but it shares a parking lot with an Alamo Drafthouse, so it must be awesome!

lol SXSW? that one? ive never been to it

Nope, the Butt-Numb-a-Thon in December.
