I haven't had power since Saturday night.
Played Greyjoy Unopposed versus Martell summer 3 times last night. Didn't seem to have a prayer since I was constantly bombarded by events that are powered by losing challenges. I really am beginning to hate Martell. :-)
I also refuse to play them with that kind of build. Seems too easy.
did you have Balor Blacktyde in your deck?
I used to have him but removed him as he appeared to clash with part of my theme.
Good idea though. I'll return him.

Y'nkow, I never found space for Areo in my Martell builds. A 4 gold ally with a conditional ability that your opponent can work around fairly easily? And to use the ability you need to keep the guy standing, not knowing if you'll even get the chance to use him? Nah. Maybe I'm blind and dumb here, but I don't think he's that great.

He can be fun in melee, as can kill a character by any player. Since my group of friends is just casual, there's usually not that much Ally removal going around either. But in a very competitive environment he is considerably less attractive, I would agree.
Oh, I agree, Melee is an entirely different story. But I don't play that.

your missing out
The whole ally fear is eluding me. I see 3 ways to target an ally specifically. One is Ser Arys Oakheart whom of which is OOH for 4 of the houses. One is Varys shadows. The other is the Dissension event.
Now besides the fact you can save unique allies from these effects with duplicates and that there are probably other ways to cancel them(besides Varys I assume), you are anticipating these to be in many decks. Am I missing any other Ally targeting cards? Are they typically in every deck?
If you can't get rid of him, he sucks. Especially when I am winning by 3 only to have Rumors of War played on a character I have participating and then end up winning by 6. You don't even want to declare a challenge against a player with him out if you can only do so with 4 or more strength. They will go unopposed just use him.
