Using RT combat rules for DH

By darklament, in Dark Heresy

Hey all - is it possible to just read Chapter IX: Playing the Game in the Rogue Trader rulebook (especially the Combat section) and have better more up-to-date rules then what is in the Dark Heresy rulebook?

I know character creation & psychic powers between the two books are completely different; I'm just looking for the best rules for resolving combat, melee, ranged attacks, etc.

Yes, though the Black Crusade combat rules are quite a bit better. Rogue trader rules change very little. One can sub out a damage dice for DoS on the attack and move and SA/FA with a penalty. Other than those changes the rules are basically the same.

In Black Crusade, Full Auto no longer dominates ranged fighting so much, and actions like feint, and guarded attack might actually see use now.

There are some key differences in RT and DH, through, like being able to move and still make a full auto burst, etc. Other revisions are good too, as better descriptions/more options in grappling, etc.

But I would also reccomend taking a look at Black Crusade. There you find many changes that streamline and rebalance, and as far as I can tell, it's all for the better!
