Response/Effect resolution

I have a few questions about the interaction between enhances and responses in some instances where things are confusing me a bit.

Firstly, responding to a trigger event mid-effect.

For instance, if you were to use Rat Chaser off of A Year's Difference, would the Rat Chaser take effect in the middle of A Year's Difference's effect so that you would still have to return the extra drawn cards to the top of your deck?

Secondly, responding to a trigger-event upon which an enhance is already 'hanging'

For instance if you had a response effect that triggered off an attack dealing damage, could you resolve that before resolving an enhance that had already been played that was pending on the attack dealing damage?

1) yes

2) waiting effects always take place before any responses may be used
