New Player Needing Rules Clarification...And Possibly a Math Nerd?...

By BenStark, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

I have a few questions that I need answering, if anyone is willing to help.

1.) What is defined as a "Trait"? I would assume it would be things like "Stealth" or "Deadly". Am I correct?

2.) Define Triggering/Triggered Abilities. I would assume that it is an ability that needs certain condition met before it can activate. For example, Hoster Tully (LoW) gives all House Tully Characters +1. This is not a triggered ability, correct?

3.) Greatjon Umber (Core) ability states that during in either a military or power challenge, he may join the challenge as either the attacker or defender. Can this ability still be activated if the Greatjon was targeted by Stealth?

4.) Certain Event cards have an infinity symbol (i.e. Forever Burning from Core, Endless Endurance from LoW). What does this symbol mean?

Thanks in advance!

Traits have no meaning in and of themselves. They are just there to allow cards to interact with each other. Traits are always in bold, italic print. Common traits include Ally, Direwolf, Dragon, Knight, Night's Watch, Lord, Lady, etc.
