a little help?

hey there im chris ive been running a heresy game set in the 40k amorgedon system (sorry for my spelling) and im having trouble tieng from planet fall to a small battle ot know going over to meet commisar yarik. ( bassed on the old 3rd ed armigedon codex) could any one possibly give me a hand i have bin gaming for about 4 years but this is my first time runing a game and i have slight( massive) writers block

so you want your players to fall to a planet in some fashion, then encounter a small battle, then meet Yarrik??

sounds good, but firstly to tie them all together, begin with a message played from a outpost somewhere that the base is under attack, heavily outnumbered, surrounded no hope (what enemies are you using by the way?). The acolytes shoot down from the sky in a transport, encounter some fire flying in, and are forced to land closer to the battle (have a suitable hit to some part of the ship wing/engine) and now must protect thier ship (only way back?? something like that i personally let the pilot be horrified for his life) have them fight off enemies for a bit, encounter a small skirmish with the foe, then as they approach the horrifying battle ahead, the outpost surrounded and it's defenders standing at the doorway utterly hopeless, suddenly a noise is heard above the din of battle, the aproach of a vhiecle, the enemies fall into dissarray, they fall over themselves to get out of the way (given yarriks history with orks i would advise some greenskin combat here) then as they retreat mightly shells fall into thier ranks and broken and defeated they flee to wherever their base may be, the tank lid pops and out comes Yarrik, probably screaming at the retreating enemies to get back and face justice, then turning and seeing the players there enters into dialouge about bravery (or if thats not your GMing style proper protocol and conduct around an officer)

does that work??

yes thanks dark that will work well im basing this campane on the 2nd ork war on armagedon prime ( in the 40k table top i play black templar to whanted to bring somthing personal to the campane to keep my intrested and pumped up about it :) ) and meeting yarik seemed to just spark somthing for me i will keep you poste don how the session gose .

as for the ship i did that last night with ym group and they enjoyed it alot theres somthing about

2 tech preists

3 gaurds men

1 asassin

butchering green skins (i threw about 20 ork boys at them 5 got away ) was a very good session witha lot of luaghs.

with yarik though ims till building his stats but he should be very strong when he is done. but yea thanks fo rthe help and will keep you posted

great looking foreword to it. hey, when you are done with the yarrik stats can you post, i would love to see what you give him, i have been considering running a Yarrik esq character but never was quite sure..

I'm guessing your group is not all about investigating in the shadows :-D. The only suggestion I would have is find some way to let the players affect the isolated outpost. Maybe let them hear that Yarrik is on his way but the outpost has to hold out for a while. Then the PCs have to fight their way in and help. That way they have the opportunity to save some people or even hide and wait for Yarrik while the orks butcher the outpost!
