I am Spanish and do not come here the news of the game. How many factions have the game? I see that seem to have split into two factions. ¿I can play with characters from the matriarchy and the Union on the same team?

There are currently four factions: the Union, Reich, Matriarchy, and Shogunate. You can play with a team composed of one faction, or one of the combinations of:

Union + Matriarchy

Reich + Shogunate

Shogunate is still in its beginnings and quite low in its cast of characters, though...

There is one epic hero, one trooper pack and a board expansion for the shogunate planned. After that, everything is darkness!

Yes it may, basically you can mix union and matriarchy troopers as you wish. The same for Reich and Shogunate.

Keep in mind that without these "alliance" rules (that were created mainly to be ale to play with the shogunate characters while the whole set was available) you can still field Oksana as a union hero (and substitute troopers with voivodes) this is specially useful against Reich as the low mentals may hurt you a lot facing hermann.

I am spanish as well, If you have not bought yet be aware that the spanish version of the game may have the old rules (it happens in some shops) try to bu the new version if possible.

I personally dont like the epic hero, he is a but overpowered IMO

You can certainly mix heroes, troopers and mercs. as long as you stay within the Union/Matriarchy or Reich/Shogunate alliances. The one exception is Gorgei in that you cannot use that model against a Matriarchy faction. The model limit is simply 3 heroes and 2 troopers of any type, within the confines listed above. The combinations that are currently available are quite mind-boggling, when you consider it.

Asteros is currently the only epic hero available and it seems that no one is overly impressed with him.

Si puedes mezclar heroes, Zorka y Mcneal por ejemplo sin problema. Si quieres probar Heroes antes de comprarlo una opcion es que uses el "Tannhauser Online" que cree, está posteado en el blog de Miah, hay tokens y fichas para las 3 primeras facciones y en un par de semanas lo actualizare con la faccion del shogunate y algunos heroes "fanmade".

Yes you can mix heroes as well not only troops. Zorka and Mcneal re not a problem. If you want to try some heroes before buying them you might try the "tannhauser Online" I created, its posted on miah's Blog.There are tokens and sheets for the first three factions and I will update it in a couple of weeks with shogunate and some custom fanmade characters.

So IMHO he is overpowered (even with the epic limitations) and I dont use him. Also I dont think he fits too well the theme, but thats just my personal feeling.

I developed a re-fluff for him (as a giang exo armour) that I am finishing (Miah helped) , Doc Savage has offered to post it as soon as its done.

While still in new and thus on a smaller scale, the Shogunate now has three characters and two troops for your basic team set up.

Plus there is the Operation: Hinansho supplement that will expand on them further as a single faction.
