Reckless Dice Podcast finishes The Witch's Song (4 recorded sessions)

By Gitzman, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Hey gang,

Reckless Dice has posted our finale episode of our live session recordings for The Witch's Song adventure. We had a blast running it and would love to get some feedback. The adventure spans 4 sessions, several near deaths and a lot of good laughs.

Check it out at the brand new http://www.RecklessDice.com site.

Like the new layout :)

The podcast is for this weekend, can't wait

Good stuff. How long was it since the last session?

I need to go back to the previous session and listen to it again

Each session was roughly 2 weeks apart with the exception of the finale which was a 1 month gap due to scheduling conflicts.

Hope you guys enjoy!

Absolutely hilarious ending to a great adventure! Great stuff! Wonder if Thorin ever made it out alive...

Me too! Hahah. Thorin is certainly in a bit of a sticky wicket. Curious to see what he will do going forward. Perhaps roll up a new character? Or maybe try to see what his mangled dwarf can still pull off in the future. Who knows!

We are looking forward to moving into the Horrors at Hugeldal next. Cant wait.

Did you expect them to target the witch over the dark elf?

I didnt know they would do that until a few moments before they met her when i say it in their eyes. They were determined to be difficult =) But i was cool with it, and furhtermore, they had great explinations for why their characters wanted to go that route.

  • They were dwarves, and had been promised treasure by the elf (elf +1)
  • The witch had attacked them in the swamp (witch -1)
  • The witch was a witch (witch -1)
  • The Elf was an elf (elf -1)
  • The Elf promised treasure (elf +1)
  • The elf promised treasure (elf +1)
  • The elf promised treasure (elf +1)

So by their math, that put the elf far behind the witch in the who's head gets bashed contest.

Cant wait to play our next game, Chris (the dwarf slayer) will be GMing, and i'll be able to play my amethyst wizard!

Great to listen and some great moments in the adventure.

But I have aquestion. Thorin got two permanent critical wounds. But I can't find the rules in the players handbook. Any other source?

Omens of War.

Indeed, Omens of War introduced super critical wounds which have the opportunity to become permanent if certain conditions are met. Thorin met all of them and more, and now suffers from a severed shield arm and a garrish scar. Those will NEVER go away. He also suffers from 2 other criticals which are normal ones which can be cured, though he is pretty badly busted up. His future is certainly uncertain.

Found the podcast a few weeks ago. Brilliant stuff.

I am currently running the Witches Song but we are only at the end of the 1st part where Lenko leads them to the mouth of Morr. Listening to the podcast gave me lots to think about, though the party I have is very different.

Female Rat Catcher - addicted to brandy.

Male Scout - Lost his hand in an earlier adventure but went on a quest to search for a gold wizard who went missing looking for secrets in an abandonded dwarf mine. He was said to have created a magical hand made of gold. They found it so now he has the item from Omens of War.

Male Boatman (was Smuggler) - has his own small boat he stole.

Male Navigator. Works for the boatman.

I was interested to see you went through the adventure with 1st Rank characters. Mine are in the middle of second rank with around 14 XP each. Did you find the adventure was a bit hard for them at rank 1?
