When a zone is considered attacked?

By Mad_niko, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

If the opponent have a Anointed Cauldron in play and i declare to attack that zone, the action triggers before i declare attacking units or not?

If i decide to choose 0 attacking units after declaring the zone that i will attack will that zone considered attacked?

Thanks in advance.

You need to declare actual attackers for the zone to be considered under attack, just declaring the zone isn't enough. So any "when this zone is attacked" effects can only be triggered after the declare attackers step.

Thank you, only another question, could you tell in which part of the rulebook is it written? I can't find nothing about it... are you sure your reply is official?

Page 12 of the rulebook:

During the Battlefield phase, the active player has the option of attacking one of his opponent's zones ... etc.etc.

If the active player chooses to attack, then the active player chooses to resolve the sequence of events as per page 12.

For further clarification of when actions should be played, you should also look at the FAQ in the Support page of Warhammer Invasion on this site.

Or click here .

WHICH is more or less what Mallumo said.

During the battlefield phase, the active player has
the option of attacking one of his opponent’s zones
with any number of units in his (the active player’s)
battlefield.

So I can choose to attack a zone and then choose 0 as a number af attacking unit.

If the active player
declares no attack or no
attackers, players immediately skip to
the “End of Turn” action phase.

If I declare no attackers I will skip at the "End of a turn" but there's nothing written about if that zone was attacked or not... and, if I have to take an action, the "End of a turn" will be the first time i can activate it...

A question directly about this subject and this card.

Do I take control of spoils of war if I declare an attack and then do not declare any attacker?

I would like to follow Mallumo but for me the clarfication :

If the active player declares no attacks OR no attackers, players immediatly skip to "end of turn" action phase. Once at least on attackers has been declared, players will carry out the entire battlefield phase to the extend able, even if there are no participating units.

Does not really leads directly to this conclusion.

Ok but it makes senses :) .

By the way that was making senses from start ;) .

I'll make a note to ask Lukas to put this in the next FAQ.
