Game Play = TV Show Hook

By wraith428, in Battlestar Galactica

So I'd say I'm batting 80% or so with friends who I've gotten to play this game without any experience with BSG who loved the game so much they had to start watching the series and got hooked.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Has there been an increase in DVD sales or Netflix requests since this game came out?

I know Ive had to lend out my DVD's a bit more.

At least 3 people have gotten hooked on the series and like the game alot.

This game is the reason that at least two of my friends watch the show now.

I have watched the show from the beginning, was so psyched when the game came out, and knew I had to play it with my friends. I had them watch the mini series and then we played the game, and since then this has been the only game we've been playing and they are now watching the normal TV episodes.

Yep!

I've watched as much online as I can, now I'm waiting for my netflex orders to arrive, while finishing up the original series on netflex ondemand.

& my original distaste for the new series was Starbuck being a girl. But on seeing the mini-series and the first 4 episodes, I don't think there could be a man out there who could replace Dirk Benidect as Starbuck.

But I sure have a lot of tv to watch. :)

My wife and I are currently in a kind of "board game frenzy". After playing Androïd, i was looking for another sci-fi game and found Battlestar Galactica. To make up our mind, we started watching the show two weeks ago and right after we ended season 2, we bought the game and can't wait to play it again ^^. Oh and of course, among the few players who didn't know the show, one of them became addicted the next day we played the game and is probably still watching it while i'm writing this post.

(as usual, sorry for my spelling ----> french guy)

Same here. 2 friends hooked and counting.

Last night one of players asked if Wal Mart carried the series, so he could watch it. Instead, I offered to loan him my copies. Then if he likes them, he can spend his own money.

Still, as much as my wife loves the game I can't get her to watch the series anymore. It's really sad when a married couple spends their Friday nights apart. happy.gif

Something similard happend here too. Some of my friends asked me after playing couple of the game if there is a way to watch the series fro mthe beginning. I offered them my set fo DVDs so they can enjoy the game even more.

I'd never seen the show and got talked into playing this game with friends and was instantly hooked. And am now watching the series as fast as NetFlix can ship them.

I got hooked on the series because of the game, and I haven't even bought it yet... happy.gif
