So, i understand that the dark Paraoh is the herald of Nyarlatothep, Mother Hydra and Father Dagon heralds of Chulthu...but who's herald is Lurker at the Threshold ?

Since the original question's been answered, with the permission of Satanito, I will hijack this thread to a related topic: as has been said, there are many Heralds corresponding to particular AOs. Shub-Niggurath has one, Hastur has one, Nyarlathotep has one, Cthulhu has two, and Yog-Sothoth has two. (There's also Ghroth and Tulzcha, who aren't really associated with anyone, at least to my knowledge. Granted, I haven't read any stories featuring Ghroth.) I suspect that there will be more "avatar"-style Heralds in future. Based on the pattern so far, they'll probably be continuing with base game AOs. Anyone want to speculate on who's up next (or who/what the Herald will be)?

I'm not sure any of the other base-set ancient ones are important enough to have a herald. Maybe Yig. I suppose Azatoth could have one (as he's the only other really big Ancient One) but that might kind-of deny the point. I would love to have more Nylarhotep ones.

I've read Ghroth's story. He's non-affiliated. He actually drifts around the universe awakening latent Old Ones on nearby planets.

I guess there's two ways of approaching the question. If we're wondering who might get their own small-box-with-accompanying-herald, I think the only one who matters enough (and has enough of a backstory to fill an expansion) is Cthulhu. Yes, Dagon and Hydra are his people, as is, by extension, the whole town of Innsmouth, but then the same could easily be said of Yog and Dunwich, so I wouldn't rule it out.

If, on the other hand, we're wondering who could get an avatar randomly bundled in with some set or another, it could be anyone...I mean, Ithaqua and Yig aren't exactly A-listers, but Ghroth and Tulzscha have set the notability bar pretty low there (much as I love 'em).

I'd just like a Nyarlathotep herald whose power didn't basically remove the primary mechanic from CotDP.
