Hey, I just started collecting. I just bought my core set and Princes of the Sun and Kings of the Storm expansion. I am looking for players to learn from and enjoy this awesome looking game. We just started picking a bunch of stuff here in the East Bay/Oakland/Berkeley area and have built playable decks for each house.
One of our members lives in your area but he is too anti-social to post here or most likely even by Email... 
Anyway, he is sort of waiting to go all in until the Lannister expansion comes out. Seeing from another thread that you are also a Lannister I guess the South Bay is Casterly Rock. I am across the extremly "narrow sea" in Alameda, making me Targaryen I suppose...
Check it: the mods may boot this to the "Metagame" section but you can always find threads you have posted in by going to your profile.
I live in Santa Cruz and while not right next door I'd be happy to come over the hill on a regular basis if people want to start meeting in the area regularly. I'm always on the lookout for Thrones players in the Santa Cruz/San Jose area.
There were some casual players that played off and on out of Game Kastle but they were never able to really stick to a reliable schedule, and tended to get sidetracked by other interests. I'm quite sure the store would love to see some Thrones players in there on a regular basis if you prefer to play out of a store or need a gathering spot in the area.
The biggest meta anywhere close is in the East Bay at Black Diamond Games in Concord. I think their regular game day is on Thursdays and they hold additional events every so often. They're a wonderful group but Santa Cruz to Concord is just too far a drive for me on a weekday after work.

I live in Albany/El Cerrito area now and while I always tell the Concord guys I will be there on Thurs, its hard for me to actually make it out that far on Thursday when traffic is quite bad.

Game Kastle in Santa Clara has an active scene. We meet most Saturday afternoons and mostly play melee (multiplayer). Stop by after 1pm and we will likely by there.
