Gambling system

By Hedonismbot, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

So one of my players in a campaign I just started is a Gambler. Has anyone put together any good systems for running gambling in the system? Should I just run it as an opposed test? What about games of pure chance?

I put together an action card Idea for "side adventures" where you can take care of longer events in one roll using the success and failure lines to "tell the story". check out he post on the forum for side adventure ideas

Something like this...

Conservative side of card

Opposed by best gambler in the game...add misfortune to anyone trained in guile, etc...

"Patient Gambler"

su succeed and make a little profit

bo bo gain additional cash

ba ba

delay ??

sc fleece the other players, gain gambling reputation

Reckless Side

"Going all in"

su win

su su su win big

bo bo gain insight to these players...add fortune dice to next time you play them

ba ba show a tell...they gain fortune dice against you

sc fleece the other players, gain gambling reputation

cs loose at the end...break even

cs caught cheating/ accused of cheating

A quick and easy game, you could roll Intelligence blue dice, and try to make a poker hand (Eagles are better than Hammers). Add white dice for positive factors. Add yellow dice for each level of Skill*. And count Sigmar's Comets as wild.

*Have the players use a Skill you think is appropriate depending on their style, eg, Charm, Intuition, Guile if they're cheating, etc.

Both very handy and cool ideas, thanks! I'll give them a whirl at the game this weekend.
