So i have a player who is currently leading a band of ragtag mutants and heritecks (i mean heretical tech priests) and has not been up to par with thier leading he frequently doesn't improve thier conditions, ignores their needs and actually forgets to go and find steady sources of food for them, his ships ran out of food and he asked me 'can they die?? or do they just suffer' he doesn't really care about them but uses them constantly, he uses them as infantry has them make tests to research things for him and other menial tasks. Now on board this ship is a insane and crazed tech heretek who a little while back interfaced with a iorn warrior flagship and took oddles of corruption and insanity points, now i would like to have this new hybrid chaos minon rise up and sieze the cult, but would that be a out of bounds decision for the gm?? also i have made him be on par with the character as he has ammased equipment for months in game time, but he does use the cult a lot as well as it's resources, should i act on the naturaly fractious natrue of chaos?? previously i had the cult attempt to rise up and he killed of all the rebels, then ordered a death cult to infiltrate thier ranks (as you may notice this player dabbles in both the heretical and the political in the imperium)...should this be the final straw??
Dark Scary Rebellion question
Infect the Ad-Mech with the obliterator virus aqnd have him cut the ship in pieces!
The crew could try to summon deamons to help them or allie with the Iron Warrior to release the ship to them, etc.
If they are paid for minions(xp) he should be able to sway them but he rest are situation intimidation, etc. (they are not paid for and are totally under your control. of course if they are scared of him you need somethign able to turn the tables, a master horator which can give hatred to everyone in sight, etc.
Pretty simple in my book.
Look at it from the minions point of view.
Their options are simple: suffer and starve quietly followed by probable death, get the message threough to the muppet in charge somehow - or rebel. And chaos tends not to go the quiet way...
The fact that he put down one rebellion should have alerted him to their feelings. But he seems to have ignored it - more fool him.
They know they can't go man to man with him, so will get clever instead.
He goes of ship at any point and it may just not be their when he returns.
Or the ships weapons/defense servitors may have a 'targetting malfunction'
His loyal minions may slip away as soon as the bad(er) guys turn up and leave him in the lurch.
Or maybe they will join or call for the bad(er) guys.
He may wake up alone in a lifepod.
Or he may wake up bleeding from a beating on the sacrifical table of the cults new leader - the admech or some other cunning minion.
There are lots of ways - food air conditioning etc. to introduce gasses and poisions into a hated leader.
Just becasue you are chaos it does not mean you can be a dumb ass. Treat your followers like crap and they rebel. True leaders keep their followers happy. Bad ones tend to come to a sticky end.
Thanks for the suggestions, i think i will have the crazed admech lead a rebellion, and maybe add some psychological warfare for fun afterwards...
I'm gonna be boring and say: Do whatever makes for the most fun for everyone around the table! A rebellion seems both likely to happen after what you describe and fun!
I agree with the previous speaker. The game should be fun first, realistic second. But if the rebellion idea doesn't work you can just have some of them die, then some more and then even more. That way he has the opportunity to adress the issue. And if he still ignores it then it's time for consequences, he'll stand there without his private army, a ship full or rotting corpses and a crew that are too emaciated to work and will have a really hard time raising a new one since maybe word's got out and no one wants to work with/serve him anymore.
well, today i ran the rebellion to the shagrin of the other players around the table, who giggled maniacly as the leader watched in relative horror as we divided the forces into 5 different armies and the battle began, the curses at the table flew hard and fast as each of the players approached the combat with thier own agenda's in hand, 1 was gunning for the blood of the leader, inspired a number of guardsmen to fall in under his command, and then procedded to stalk through the space ship searching for the leader, 2 others who had been trying to revolt for over a month of game sessions took thier loyalists and procedded to fire upon the friendly vessel that was nearby, causing numerous originaly nuetral players to jump on board and begin killing characters, i brought old aquantiances that the players had made (mostly enemies) and had them bring thier forces with them to kill of the player forces, the Deamonic armed heretek stomped on everyone with his monsterous form and his obliviate servants, the main leader with his power armor stolen, and his forces being utterly destroyed, took refuge in the depths of his space hulk, then the forces began to search for him, as they searched the Heretek confronted the leader with his doomblade, powerfist and specially built flamer shotgun..they squared off in combat, ending with the heretek and the leader both hitting -10 hp and burning fate to stay alive, then the heretek grabbed the leaders ominisient axe and shattered it in his grip, then impaled the leader on his doomblade in the next round, the leader dropped to 1 fate point, and then due to my sh*tty rolls he managed to kill off the giant evil heretek (who was actually a iorn warriors machine spirit from a ship in his space hulk it was revelaed, lots of jaws dropped) now with a evil deamon vessel breaking free from the space hulk both teams began to rush to the gun decks to man the guns and destroy the ship, however the captain with no where left to go, down to 5 NPC's and himself being carried by his loyal ogryn bodyguard, decided that enough was enough, he and his NPC's went down to the planet where he asked to retire his character which i denied, then i took him into the confrence room of my house and we disscussed his options (he felt he had none but he didn't look at his character friends at all, and he didn't notice that the ship was down to 38% crew population). refreshed with optimism he undertook a great go big or go home mission to retake his ship, which ended in him talking to the evil deamon ship, convincing it that in exchange for the souls of the mechanicus soliders on the ship which he lured into the engine room using himself as bait, that it would take him away, now the originally docked ship was now firing plasma bolts down upon the iorn warriors crusier which easily absorbed the punishment, and then for almost 3 rounds in a row the ship gunners roled so badly that i determined they actually were hitting the space hulk. bombarding and critically injuing thier ally vessel, causing the 2 rebellious scallywags on the gun decks to both turn their BS 60 lances onto the offending ship, after 3 critical hits they had effectivly raped the other vessel, shooting the trophy room full of macrocannon rounds, destroying the engines and the bridge of the friendly ship, and unpowering all components except for one, Their ship only suffered a depressurized bridge and some other rather easily solved problems, by the time this was over the deamon vessel had finished it's objective of getting out of the ship (now carring the leader away to saftey, with at least one captive) then the leader remebered that he had a deamon item he had looted off another chaos champion from before, he broke the weapon with the help of a few of his compatriots, one of whom he now had a hefty debt of 6 billion thrones after agreeing to his services as bodyguard (he took at least one bolt to save the characters life), and then entered into pact with the deamon inside of it, so that he may survive to prosper later.. unfortunatly at this time the ship informed him that he was going to alter the deal and said goodbye, the leader almost didn't understand that he was being vented into space by a backstabbing ship, we ended the session with the deamon vessel speeding away from the fray, the 2 other ships stuck with damaged engines or no engines at all, and the leader and those loyal to him stuck drifiting in space,
needless to say more epic things happened in this one session than ever before, everyone had a blast and everyone was deffinitally shaken about all that transpired, the leader was even surprised at the depths he had sunk to to stay alive....
will probably update next week with the results of the next sesison.
did anything go wrong?? yes, the players split and now want to kill the leader, any way to solve?? did i miss something??
Sometimes players gotta deal with mistakes, and that was fully on their shoulders. Bravo!
i ove the des ription and the idea lol i chuckled as i read about the stand off and was picturing the look on the players face both going doing the scene from desperado where the two are facing off and there out of ammo and keep grabbing up empty guns.
thats about right, and now we have numerous pieces of infighting as both ships are badly damaged because on one player being really stubborn and trigger happy.. yeah my players had a blast and i think it can only get better, thanks for the feedback as to wether or not i should do this, by the way anyone know a good way to deal with a deamon pact with khorne, i want to add some characterful stuff to the leader after he made a deamon pact, but i can't think of anything super good...

Summoning up some bloodletters might add a bit of a intrigue. DH core has a lot of example compacts in em, why BC didn't just surprised me .
cool, but should they be against him or for him..and i think hounds of khorne sound like a better option to send out..thanks for the help, hope everyone enjoyed the description of the rebellion, i will post the final results after my group meets again this week... should be up by sunday.
