Rules Wiki for UFS? Should I try to start one or...?

By retched, in UFS General Discussion

I thought of this a day or two ago and I recently started looking it it's feasibility since UFS is still relatively new... (two years or three...) While I think there's already one out there and I know how much everyone likes to use the Rules Q&A forum, would it be feasible to create a Rules Wiki for UFS? I know of one other game that has one, that game being L5R, but should UFS have one?

I have the spare webspace on my domain name but wanted to know how useful something like that would be before pursuing the downloading of all the images involved and the intense reading on all the cards.

While I know I'm not the normal rules arbiters and that the idea of having a publicly open and editable wiki like this would be problematic, I think that this is something that can be useful to the community in the whole.

There's a UFS Wiki that was started about a year or so ago on Wikia, I was helping with updating it for awhile, but eventually people stopped using it and I think everyone kinda forgot about it. Personally, I think a Wiki is a great idea, it's just tough to mantain a Wiki by oneself, especially with this game going into it's forth year. There's already 22 sets, 3 battle boxes, and 8 more releases on the way this year, so that's a lot of cards to have to keep track of...

I knew there was one on Wikia...

Let me try to go there and reapply to maintain. Let's see how that goes.

it would be great if someone did this with twoheaded dragon falling by the way...

It's not really failing, I guess they didn't make the update for SF09 and the new SC set (number lost).

I was making these edits in private as well as a bunch of other miscellaneous kinds of edits to them as well.

no one seemed to be doing anything with this (about a year or two ago) so I set up one myself. Both have fallen into obscurity.

You can find mine at: ufswiki.aslum.net

I can't speak for the maintainers of the wikia version, but I'd certainly be willing to give admin privs to a couple of reliable folks if there is continued interest. Also, the wikia version is full of ad. Blech.

I was about to message the sysop of the Wikia version but I wouldn't mind helping you on yours.
