Crafting Superior Items, costs of raw material (Blackfire Pass)

By Glorian Underhill, in WFRP Rules Questions

Hello first Post of mine regarding the Crafting rules in Black fire Pass.

For putting a rune on an item you need a superior one. the rules have a part for creating your own items. So far so good.

For a superior item you need raw material. So for example raw material for item A costs 4G as a normal item. So for that item to be a superior one costs 40g.

So when the actual crafting begin you need a sigmars comet for the item to be superior, but doubles the costs.

-So the item would cost 80G is that right?

-And two comets make it at normal costs for 40G, right?

-So it is not possible to make a superior item when I only buy normal raw material?

No not quite right. You can either invest the raw materials for a superior craft item (10x the cost of the raw material) and produce a superior item, if the tradecraft check is successful or you could create a normal quality item with the normal raw material costs, but if you produce one sigmar comet with the tradecraft roll, you can double your investment to produce a superior item or if you get are lucky and get two sigmar comets, you can produce a superior item without additional cost.
So the two ways are, take expensive raw materials and create superior item or take normal raw materials and get sigmar comets on the tradecrft roll.

Ah I see and found the clarification of the rules at the end of the crafting section. I had read them 3 times and didn't find them then.
