I think we've had precious little in terms of teasers or information of any sort, there has been an awful lot of speculation but very little conformation. So, any hints on careers that people have heard, or all this social combat stuff that people have gotten jazzed up about?
Any more skinny on lure of power?
I'm still trying to figure out which non-p's to watch to get a good background for a Slaanesh themed game.
jh
looks like its on the boat im thinking this will be released on black friday!!!!!
Given their track record with delivery, my guess is that the status changes to "Shipping" this week, with it hitting stores next.
Stil, I am quite disappointed that we haven't got a new teaser/preview/sneak for way more than a month now. I mean that's what we fans live for, isn't it?
Yup, since precious few of us can afford stuff these days anyway!
I heard a(n as yet unsubstantiated) rumor that Lure would be available *today* and that the website status was a glitch. I fully intend to check this out as I live within striking distance of the Event Center and I will let the forums know what I find. Can I get a collective crossed-fingers?

Nice! Our man on the ground.
Picked it up at FLGS in downtown Toronto today.
Nice - about 28 social actions covering wide range of characters from con men to priests (e.g., a Sermon action), a few combat actions (bash someone with your lute).
No new style of mayhem (e.g., not like new Disease, Corruption etc. mechanics) other things like but Retainers (followers, remind me of the NPC cards I use at times but with more rules about how you hire them, pay for them etc), Shame and much more stuff on social encounters and on being a Noble (you must choose a starting career with Noble trait and wealth of Affluent to be a Noble - there are 4 noble careers in this box, there were 4 in Omens of war and the box suggests that Dilettante from core set can switch Specialist for Noble if desired). A few new insanity and mutation cards.
The text notes that social status is not very fluid and if you're not "born" noble it's very uncommon to get "made one".
And daemonettes of course....
More please
Well, since we owe you for the lovely map (though the distance measurement tools seem to have vanished),
Lure of Power book with 6 chapters: background on nobility, crime and punishment (fairly fluffy), about 5 pages detailing Ubersreik nobility and fleshing out who's important to the region on that front. 11 pages of rules about noble birth and its benefits (bonus dice on interactions of different sorts, e.g., a noble is a good at intimidating brass tier; stipend of gold), retainers (hired help that's useful), more details on social encounters and what the "influence" effect on action cards can mean, social encounter rules including "being clear on stakes" (hmmm, someone reading indie games), "the Duel of Wits" which is where you spar verbally before an audience to cause target to exceed "shame" threshold before they do you (not sure if this is accidentally or not similar to Burning Wheel's Duel of Wits, though no "compromises" here rather win/lose). 7 Episode Templates where social encounters factor.
LIber Ecstatica - 25 pages on Slaanesh and servants, 21 pages of an adventure "Mirror of Desire". Makes use of at least some of 3 new location cards. Set in Ubersreik with the Aschaffenberg and von Bruner families, also Karstadt family (merchant guild head who PC's may have met in Gathering Storm). Have read through it once, nice idea but again one like Edge of Night where the GM will be lucky if existing PC's easily "fit" and may have to rejig things a bit. Not sure about how it holds up - it's one of those adventures where there's a story and the heroes are "tacked onto it" and it feels forced to have them showing up all the time in scenes, works much better if one of the heroes is more woven into it (related to a principal character or replacing an existing NPC). I'm being general since we're not in GM forum and no spoilers.
For monsters you get 7 daemonic servants of slaanesh and 5 mortal servants (1 of which is a singular NPC, 2 of which a cult type, 2 more generic mortal servants). As with other books, you get advice on how to make a beastman or champion of chaos from core rules a Slaaneshi one. Cards for all these of course.
Secret Society rules with example membership sheets are provided (5 different ones). I don't think I will say much about these in open forum, GM's may want to handle them in different ways. Reminds me of Silver Twilight Lodge in Arkham.
Here's some spillage. Careers: Ambassador, Courtier, Demagogue, Fop, Guildmaster, Herald, Judicial Champion, Master Thief, Minstrel and Noble Lord. Alas, I was *certain* the Bawd would be back in this set. Pity...
Thanks! Can we know how the careers break down as far as basic, intermediate, or advanced? I like to pre-load my folder for new cards when I can.
One of my favorite cards ever. An item called: Book of (Awful) Poetry. If you read from it publicly, everyone within earshot suffers a point of Shame.

Sure. Should have done that above, probably. Courtier, Fop and Minstrel are Basic. Ambassador, Demagogue and Master Thief are Advanced Careers but have the Intermediate keyword. Guildmaster, Herald, Judicial Champion and Noble Lord are Advanced Careers and have the Advanced keyword.
I've always been big on characters being part of a "larger organization." I can't wait to see what they did with the secret societies. I'm hoping to do up the ones for the rest of the orgs.
Thanks for the update Valvorik.

Got my copy tonight! Looking forward to delving into it.
Where did you buy your copy?
Any news of the expansion in Europe?
I got mine at Nan's Games and Comics, in Houston, TX
Unfortunately for me, none of my local stores (within 2 hours drive) have WFRP stuff anymore. So I have to order everything. At least I can order it through the store that is on the same block as my workplace. I'm pretty excited for this one.
This is great news.
Unfortunately my local store doesn't have it in stock tonight
. I normally don't ask these kinds of questions, but tonight is my local group's night to play. They are about to go up to rank 3. One of my player's is a Dilletante - Envoy. They recently inherited a small title and some land. They would probably be highly interested in Noble Lord as their next career move. Could someone please tell me what it's career ability is and if it has more than the standard, 2 talent slots. I'd like to be able to tell them what it is so they can choose to either wait to level or play something else.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Happy gaming,
Commoner
yes please, what are the new carreers ?

Getting mine off amazon on the thirtieth. I'd say it'll be out around then.
Just confirmed that my copy is in the mail. Should be arriving sometime next week.
