Dust Warfare

By Dicenilee, in Dust Tactics

Any idea as to when this ruleset is going to be out ??? I says 4th quarter but any advancement on this.

Living in the UK Gencon was a little out of my reach but I understand it was demo'd there? anyone try it ?

Im going to Crisis this year in Antwerp but doubt there will be any warfare news there, FFG is badly represented in Europe when it comes to shows, events and displays.

I think I saw somewhere that its due out 12-22-12, right after the earth blows up! Better pre-order now!

I've learned over the years that FFG cant be tamed, they are like a wild stallion, running free, roaming the gameing industry, putting out great product, takeing thier own, sweet time! every new release ive waited eagerly for has taken at two to three months longer than projected.

Be patient, think of it as a good Easter present to yourself!

Have fun blow'n stuff up!......eventualy! gran_risa.gif

My intel points to December.

That would require a MAJOR delay as Intel says sometime in December of this year... not next... serio.gif

I agree, FFG, unlike some other companies, appears to start previewing stuff when they have a firm schedule with allowances for slippage. So, I don't see a problem with December. Note that the last few releases for this year (heavy walkers, hero packs, Dust Warfare) appeared at Gencon in excellent condition.

But December is too far away and need to blow things up now.

Hell if they are this slow i might just see the russians before 2020 cries llorando.gif

I see no one got my little "Mayan prophecy of DOOM!" joke............ thats okay, my cat still thinks I'm funny......

No, I got it, but it would have been funny if it was this December, not next... Its all about context man! gran_risa.gif

Didint notice with the the bitter tears of having to wait stinging my eyes.

Does anyone know how the measuring is going to work as on the cards it still has numbers for squares. Also please please please sort the the very grey field of visin out as this has caused more agro then anything else ugh.

Full stats for all units will be in the book...

My son and I demo'd DW at GenCon. I admit I was a little skeptical at first -- one of the main reasons I enjoy DT so much is that the board settles so many of the issues that bog down straight minis games (like line of sight, cover, etc.) and I feared removing the board would open the door to those same old arguments. That being said, we enjoyed the demo quite a bit. Nice thing is you use the same unit cards. Range and movement are are multiplied by six, meaning a movement of 1 becomes a movement of 6 inches. A range of 4 becomes a range of 24, etc. There are some other changes to the gameplay itself including an additional phase. When the rulebook comes out I'll purchase it and pull my terrain out of the closet and give it a go.

I don't like the idea of having to pull out the old measuring tape to play this game.

I love the grid system. I think it would be easier to grid out 3D terrain rather than play with an open table.

That's the nice part. They aren't stopping DUST Tactics for DUST Warfare. They're giving players the option to use either play style.

I like open tabletop games, but I also have no problem enjoying the grid of DUST Tactics. DUST tactics takes less set-up time, and doesn't require carrying terrain other than map tiles (all of which fit with dice and markers in my Operation Seelowe box). DUST Warfare will give a wider range of terrain, so long as the players are willing to bring it to the game.

Making DUST more appealing to a wider range of players will not be a bad thing.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

Cheers!
