Since extra ammunition does not require an action, I assume it does not trigger overwatch when used. Is this correct?

On another note, I have demonstrated this game to a number of people now and everyone seemed to like it. Some now have the intention of buying it. Clearly this is a game that is very much under estimated. Whether it goes anywhere is another matter.
