Weird question for the experienced player :)

Okay, as the headline state here's a weird question. I have seen the cards in the core set and think the High Elf, Empire and Dwarf cards are cool. BUT I find the Chaos, Dark Elf and some Orc cards very repulsive. I know this is probably just me and all those who loves them, no offense meant :) I'll probably be playing this game mostly by my self playing both sides so what I really wanna know is:

1. Is playing experience lessened if you ignore the Chaos group of cards total?

2. I'll probably have to buy 2 core sets to get two playable order/empire decks. But how about battle packs? Do I need two of each? Or can you build two fairly good decks with say just 1x core set, 1x Assault on Ulthuan, 1x Legends, and then one of each BP in one cycle?

I think this is a weird question myself since my answer would be, should anyone ask me, "maybe you should just find another game" :) but I really like the game mechanics so I really would like to know if there's a chance for me.

why not just have one deck for each race and make he race fight each other like chaos v dwarfs or orks v empire

Chaos has many interesting mechanics, but WI is a good game even without this race. The other races provide a lot of variety and while you will certainly miss some cool Chaos strategies especially when adding the later deluxe expansions and battle packs I think you will have a good time for sure. In my group too, Chaos does not hit the table so often actually.

From a theoretical standpoint, it's important to understand that you will be playing a very different game, and you may discover strategies that work well with your selected group of cards, that wouldn't work well if you had to worry about the type of threats that could be brought to bear if you were playing against the other cards too.

But since you're playing solo, that's not a big deal. Just something to keep in mind if you find an "unbeatable" strategy for one of your races.

I would recommend going slow on the purchases. Buy the core set (or two), and play with those for a while. Then add in some deluxe expansions, one at a time. This will give you a chance to really explore all the cards you own; otherwise, you may buy a lot of cards that never see play.

Super. Thanks for the advises everyone. I'll try that. Also have some questions about the battle packs but think I'll post it in another thread.
