Looking for players in San Antonio, Texas

By dienekes00, in Dark Heresy

I attempted using the "Friends Finder", which is a great tool, except it only lets you search by state and not by city. Some states are small enough where that's cool. Others...well, Texas is just too big for that.

So, DH players in San Antonio, friends me up.

Bumping and crossing my fingers.

<slinks slowly into the room backing into a corner silently nodding to the one person present wordlessly acknowledging they both come from the same place>

*walks to the table nearest the newcomer and sets down a drink before lifting his own glass*

<Taking the galss with a nod of thanks and trustfuly sipping>

I know of a group that you might be seeking, a couple by chance <winking slyly as if there is a joke in the word>....they be daring to venture into the dragon's lair on the last day of the work week (Friday nights), and the other on the first day (monday nights). I don't know if they are looking for new recruits, but it tis a chance, I be not one of them as I am also searching for an inquisitor to serve with, But I keep my back to the wall my eye to the shadows and my ear to the wind.....

*sips thoughtfully and nods*

The dragon's lair, eh? I haven't forayed into that place for a good while... Might be worth the effort, now. I actually serve an inquisitor of the Holy Ordo Xenos. However, our team is largely scattered and we don't get to work together very often. We're working on a plan to get some work done remotely through various data channels (rptools online), but that's yet to come to fruition. There may be a spot for you if you're interested once we get the remote scheme up and running. In the meantime, thanks for the tips and keep in touch if you get any other interesting news.

*pours Chance a fresh drink and takes a seat with a view of the room*

Is this how people communicate with eachother in San Antonio? :)

Why not just meet at Rudy's BBQ and hash the whole thing out. That place has incredible BBQ.

:)

Rudy's is indeed the best :)

Are you here, in SA or do you just know our BBQ?

I'm in Arizona, but I've traveled to San Antonio for work related trips quite a bit over the last few years. You guys have it pretty sweet over there.

I miss the food. There isn't anything you can't find there, unless you're a snob about your Italian.

There's one Mexican place there I miss, can't remember the name for the life of me though.

Now if I could only get Jack in the Box and Whataburger up here in Michigan, that and a real Mexican restaurant, tired of Taco Bell.

I also can't find Ethiopian, Salvadoran, or Turkish food, here, and that saddens me. But there are lots of other good places.

Also, that's horrible about being exiled in a land with just Taco Bell, Letrii. I don't know how I'd make it...

I had to deal with the same lack of Mexican Food growing up in Massachusetts. Thankfully, I moved to Arizona and have learned the delights of good Mexican food. I still frequent Taco Bell when the kids have a hankering for tacos, but that's about it.

I feel your pain.

I miss Jack in the Box tacos (mmmmm) and Sourdough Jack and Stuffed Jalapanos.

I think the friday group has moved on to iron kingdoms I am venturing to the dragon's lair tonight, after a quick dinner of Sarika's Thai across teh street, so I shall find out if the friday group is still serving the emperor.

I am the GM of the Friday Night group at Dragon's Lair, San Antonio, TX. It really is a small world, huh? Well I am just about at my max for players. I might be willing to work in one person, but just one more. Once I get over 5 people things get pretty chaotic, and we just cannot tollerate chaos it's heretical. Anyway, we take weeks off between adventures and we just finished our latest adventure. I will be at the Anime Club meeting at the Dragon's Lair tonight just ask for Torque. It might be nice to have someone in the group knowledgable in 40k lore as my group are all neophytes.

Fridays are a little tough for me, but then again, I really want to find a game and I do know the universe. I'll look into that. I'll try and catch y'all this week just to watch you guys in action, maybe.

We won't be there this week. We take weeks off between adventures. My schedule can get pretty hectic with work and school. Try next week. We will be there.

Ah the iron kingdoms guys stole your room then. was wondering why I didn't see you.

I brave the lair of the dragon every friday but have already commited my forces for the larger battle of defeating the forces of chaos, with a contingent of Dark angels. so my fridays are pretty much spoken for, so no worries on me trying to muscle my way under the rule of your inquisitor XD.

if I may be so bold as to ask, what denizens of the imperium did inquisitor Torque recruit?

I have my Acolytes working for Inquisitor Vownus Kaede. I figured that a dashing, rogueish figure like him would be sympathetic than a distant autocrat like Lord Inquisitor Zerbe.

My Characters are:

Guardsman Ulth of the 3rd Theran Regiment: A feral world guardsman from Thedros, a planet in the Ixiniad sector that lost contact with the Imperium in M39 and was only recently rediscovered. By the time Thedros was re-discovered, the planet had already regressed to a new stone age state of technology. The primitve people hailed the returning Explorators as the Sky-Emperor's avatar and begged to be sent into battle against his foes. Ulth's regiment was rushed into battle against the Orks where they gained a reputation as fearsome Ork fighters. Ulth was recruited after distinguishing himself in battle against the Greenskins. During a particularly feirce Ork assault on an Imperial citadel, the Orks managed to breach Imperial defenses and Ulth's regiment held the line, suffering heavy casualties, until a Leman Russ tank company could be moved forward to plug the breach. Ulth acts as the muscule of the group. He prefers to fight up close and weilds an Eviscerator he received as a gift from the Redemptionist's leader before betraying them. Despite his gruff demeanor he has formed a bond with the scum Felix and the two often play Tarot together when not on assignment.

Felix (last name unknown): Void Born Scum from 41Pry: Felix was recruited after turning in his gang boss, Titus 'Lug' Kraken for selling Xenos weapons to pirates. While the rest of the gang hated Kraken and sympathized with Felix' decision ganger tradition prescribes a very specific punishment for snitching. No matter to whom or for what reason. Rather than leave Felix to be thrown out of the nearest air gate by his fellow gangers, Inquisitor Kaede took the young ganger with him as an Acolyte. Felix is a consumate manipulator. He is the face of the group and is able to talk his way out of just about any situation. Felix' philosophy on life can be summed up as "if it's not nailed down, steal it. If it is nailed down, yank out the nails and see rule 1." Still, he has a soft spot for people in trouble and can unexpectedly stick out his neck for someone in need.

Toro Muya: Nighthawk Assassin of the Order of the Iron Fist: Toro is an Imperial World Assasin from the harsh shrine world Grangold. His origins are shrouded in mystery. He was found on the front steps of the Grangold shrine, clutched in his mother's dead arms. Apparently, she was trying to reach the shrine on foot and they were caught in one of Grangold's infamous acid storms. his mother used her own body to sheild her infant son. Toro's survival was hailed as a miracle and a sign from the Emperor by the priests and he was inducted into the Order of the Iron Fist, an order of assassins founded by the Iron Hands space marines stationed on Grangold. The order operates throughout the Calixis sector, covertly eliminating enemies of the Emperor, wherever they may hide. He encountered Inquisitor Kaede while on the fallen Shrine World of Piety, both the Inquisitor and Toro Muya were there to elimiate a corrupt Ecclesiarch responsible for a series of religiously motivated riots across the sector. They joined forces and Inquisitor was so impressed by Toro's performance that he recruited him. Toro often scouts ahead of the party sneaking into sensitive locations and gathering intelligence or eliminating threats before they can threaten the others. Toro has proven to be an utterly ruthless instrument of divine vengeance. Cold, calculating and merciless. Even resorting to infanticide at one point, becuase he reasoned that the child might grow up to be a criminal or heretic and it was best that he die while still innocent. Despite his flaws, the reports on him filed witht he Inquisition have attracted the attention of the Officio Assassinorum. If he reaches max rank in Assassin, he will be recruited into one of the great Assassin temples. Probably Eversor.

Xelot: An Imperial World Techpriest from the planet Heterodyne. Xelot is a techpriest from a unique medeaval world with ties the Adeptus Mechanicus. In exchange for heavy farming, mining and construction equipment from the Adeptus Mechanicus, every year the people of Heterodyne offer up their brighest children at the Mechanicus temple in the capital city, where they are tested. Those children who pass the tests are taken in by the Mechanicus and trained as adepts. Xelot was one such child. He is very strict about ensuring that the proper rituals and supplications are used in his maintinence rituals and often chastises his fellow acolytes for failing to do so. Ironically, Xelot has a vindictive streak and will occasionally sabotage mechanical devices so they cannot be used by the Omnisaiah's enemies.

Awe now you are just making me jealous, perhaps on my days off I could sit in on a friday and watch ya work.

sounds like an imperial sanctioned Psyker would make a fine addition to your group, raining blood and causing mayhem for the good of the emperor ~.^

We were playing DH at the Lair, but then we did move on to Iron Kingdoms. Different group. As far as I know there is another DH group playing there. Check with the store crew--they actually have better info on what games are being run :)
