The description of this planet made me wonder... this could make a good CSM home world! Sure acquiring all the technical stuff would be a bit of an adventure on its own, but still seems highly possible/profitable.

You could say that about half of the planets described in the book. What's the point in building a fortress? You could just catch some ferals and contine with the process in space. Isn't Xurunt's description sugesting someone is actually doing it?

I had the same idea! Actually, I've modelled 15 of my Chaos Space Marines as barbarians from Xurunt, mixing Chaos Space Marine parts and Chaos Warriors (WFB) parts. I've made five of them into beast riders, using monsters from FFG's DOOM boardgame as mounts.

Looks quite fine!
