So in Elder Sign the day lasts only twelve hour; this means that the Earth rotation speed must have somehow doubled.

Such an astronomical change (which most probably happened from one moment to the next) would surely mean the complete annihilation of all life on the planet, if not of the planet itself.

So no investigators, no museum, nothing!

Bu after all who cares if an Ancient Evil will rule on a barren rock (or a lot of rocks if Old Earth breaks apart) in the middle of the cosmic void?
