Price increase?

So yeah, as the game Dust was back earlier this year, the product line and prices were fine. But as we move on into the era of Dust Warfare, the price hike isnt fine, the rigidity of what you get when you buy stuff isnt fine and I think I have only a few more purchases before I am done with new stuff for Dust (not even sure I need the Heavy Walkers, but I do want Totenmeister LOL).

I like the "rigidity" of what you get. I have plenty of other hobbies & interests, and if I had to assemble, prime, & paint all my minis I'd never have the time. I love that the Dust stuff is playable out of the box, and you have the option of painting it right away, too.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. That's why there's 40K for you, and Dust for me. The market is full of minis you have to assemble, prime, paint (and can customize, sure). I'd hate it if Dust went in the same direction, when it's doing something new and it's working for a lot of us.

about time. i was getting real tired of under-paying for this product. I'll take two please.

The Operation Cerberus expansion is also priced at 44.95, up $5 from the other expansions.

And has a building in it.

I find that if its a game I love (like Dust Tactics), I dont realy mind a price hike occasionaly, If it keeps the game coming ang keeps it fresh.

Dont forget, as a game becomes a hit, and gets more and more popular, it becomes a much bigger investment for the company. They have to devote more resources to developement, and production, to keep up with both current and projected demands.

While the up-cost of the Hero pack is significant, I'm still quite pleased with the cost of the Walkers, wich, in my opinion is where other games ( one gothic-y sci fi money devourer pops into mind ) realy gouge you. $25 for a mediun walker! How much is a Dreadnaught on 40K? $40 for the new Heavy Walker! How much is a 40k tank? or a Super Heavy tank? I feel that the prices for what you get is still more than reasonable, even the Hero pack. How much would you pay for 3 characters in 40k, or Warmachine, or most any other wargame?

If the game stays good, if the game stays fun, FFG gets my money!

.........as long as they dont go crazy, like those rascaly Brits!

Have fun blow'n stuff up!

Yeah, it seems the $5 price hike is consistent across the board for the newer products going to be released. So, I wouldn't be surprised to see this being the new price trend.

I definitely support my FLGS's as much as I can (especially the ones I play at), but wow, those numbers! I'd never known that. I mean, that's just a systemic thing. The system needs to change somehow if the stores want to stay competitive. I love shopping at my FLGS, but no way am I going to buy the big box Dust Tactics there for $100 when I can get it for $60 online. That's stupid savings.

I guess it's: online retailers offer the best prices, FLGS's offer play space and community. So I skirt the line between supporting both.

Wholesalers offer an important service: they deal with individual suppliers to create a large range, allowing individual stores to reduce the number of suppliers they have to deal with, and frequently comes with reduced or eliminated shipping costs for large orders. It shifts business expense from the individual stores, and lets them run with fewer employees that are not actively making them money from customers. Think about how many different games manufacturers are out there, and the time it would take a small local store to keep in contact on ordering from all of them.

Without the wholesalers, a lot of small businesses couldn't operate, because they would be spending too much of their income running a mini-wholesale business that ate funds from their store without adding income.

Wholesalers selling direct is a good thing for many areas, because some people don't have a good local store, so being able to order from somewhere reliable is a very good thing. How often have you heard of people winding up dealing with a really bad online seller? Established wholesalers remove risk for customers ordering online.

We pay for convenience and reliability. The problem is convenience comes at a cost, and we have to decide where we are willing to pay more for more local service.

I know some people who put adollar limit on purchases. If they are buying a $100 game, they go online, but if they're buying a $50 game, they go to their local store. They will eat the discount difference for lesser purchases to support their local store, while still saving themselves money for major purchases. It isn't a perfect solution, but there isn't one available, and that way, they can still save and support their FLGS to keep a place to meet and play.

I buy local unless I can't get it local, but I'm able to accept local prices as worth the local benefit. I don't expect anyone to feel they have to do the same. We all have to live in the real world, yet we all only have so much disposable income.

I see it like this, Yes prices go up its just the way it is, its annoying but hey if you enjoy the game then youll probably just pay it anyway.

In terms of hours I get out of this game and the fun I have painting the minis, they are worth it.

My personal grip is just hurry up and start releasing the Soviet please!!! Things are too slow.

I'm hoping right now for a "battle pack" or two in the $75-100 range. 3-4 medium walkers, 1-2 light walkers, 3-4 heroes, 6-10 squads. I'm real interested to see the take on the KV-45/47 walker. From the looks in the comic, it's almost like they could be "half size" walkers on a 40mm base so you could get two to a square. That would be different, but I figure they are going to be full size from the pictures on dust-models.com. Probably as a light walker from their armament.

Here's The Guilds pic comparing Otto/KV47 with others, not a lot of difference really, if anything looks tougher than a Medium Mech. The little guy in the middle from AT43 would be good as A4 infantry and is more the size of the KV47 in the comic.

Man, that makes me want to bread out my Red Blok and play around with them...

I'd love to see something like the little guy in play as two or three model squads. Give the Soviets something different, especially if they call it as tank A4 (partly from small size), but only give it two or three hits. Yes, it could go as infantry A4, but I'd want to reserve that for Vrill heavy infantry. Then just call them Fast or Move 2.

Another possibility, go with tank A3 straight but make them resilient to simulate the ability to maneuver quicker. I think that would work in better than tank A4.

They look SCHweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeT !

Just as i was about to get into AT43 it went crunch, wanted to get me some red bloc too.

So those minis where did you see those ???? they are the first Russian i have seen apart from nikolai who i have just painted and once i get a decent pic will post to show you all.
