Using Influence Instead of thrones

By Juggernaut 246, in Dark Heresy House Rules

In an effort to reduce bookeeping, PC homelessness/starvation and integrate items fom other lines i have decided to have the Acolytes in my next Dark heresy campaign use the influence system from Ascension. Trying to figure out what way would be best to do so...

Right now I am thinking to simply start the group with 5 influence and giving certain characters (noble born, clerics ect) have bonuses or penalties due to their status...

Suggestions? Thoughts?

I'm doing something even more free-form than that, though similar.

The Acolytes (at a higher level) can simply request equipment. As GM, I will tell them whether it happens or not. It makes people give good justification for what they want instead of just "I have the cash/influence, so end up getting one".

It also allows me to very easily ban Storm Bolters, which are broken beyond belief.

You could use the Infamy mechanic from BC as well, since it's REALLY cool. You will probably have to rename it (Influence :P ), and figure out a way to integrate it into the story.

Im thinking after every mission they go on they will be able to petition their inquisitor for things or services. So when they are on mission they use influence and between missions they are able to requisition equipment and services directly from their inquisitor.

And for low level play its next to impossible to get them, and IF you get them the poor bastard using it wont have ANYTHING else since he is constantly broke to even halfway fill the magazines of his Bolter with ammo... The cruelest things you can do to a low level char is issuing him a Bolter or a Plasma Weapon.
