Hey folks I'm taking submissions for my blog for Oct. 24-28, read more here: miah000.blogspot.com/2011/10/write-article-for-tannhauser-blog.html .
Write an Article for The Tannhauser Blog
fun! I'll try to get my roleplaying game cleaned up by then =)
Maybe an article with multiple authors which looks at some of the house rules we use? Just from the recent posts, I see some rules about changes to the way weapons work and some house rules DA uses with Heizinger.
I'm not a big fan of the challenge tokens (they all end up in a bag of "extras") but DA had some ideas for more varied challenges and that could be a worthy article as well, especially if done for the characters who do not have them.
Hey anyone out there doing figure modifications, custom paint jobs, or convering figures for use in Tannhauser, you guys are also welcome to send in pictures and a little text about what you did. It's not a contest so unfinished works are welcome.
Also if any of you expert painters out there would like to do a tutorial about making Tannhauser figures look awsome, please send in an artcle.
Cool, my idea got a green light! Anyway, some easy ones: AT-43, AEWWII, Secrets of the Third Reich and Incursion, Dust. You might categorize the figures by theme as well since different people may want to add different things to the game. Here are some possibilities:
1. Historical - Regular troops and vehicles from all the "normal" world war games out there.
2. Tech-based figures: AT-43, Secrets of the Third Reich, AEWWII, Dust, Incursion are all good sources.
3. Occult: AEWWII, Secrets of the Third Reich, Incursion, Horrorclix, Spinespur, Any of the Gazillion Zombie Games out there
4. Eldritch Horror: Monsterpocalypse Cthul Faction, Horrorclix, Mansions of Madness, RAFM miniatures, Khurasan miniatures
5. Pulp and Heroes: Heroclix, Marvel Heroscape, Clix BPRD Pack, Adventurers, Reaper Chronoscope and Savage Worlds lines, Some Warmachine figures, Monsterpocalypse (with a little imagination)
6. Aliens: AT-43, Horrorclix, lots of other Sci-Fi Games
7. The Far East: Okko, Malifaux Spirits of Vengeance faction, Classic Heroscape
8. Monsters: Depends on what you want, but DnD miniatures, Monsterpocalypse, Reaper, Privateer Press, most other fantasy lines are possibilities
Some companies like Reaper have a large variety with individual models which could fit the themes above. This is just a small selection, really. There are actually a huge amount of figures that can work for the weird war theme. It just depends on how weird you want your world to be... heck, FFG/TOY even gave us a minotaur! You could also include an article about terrain, though that might not work out the best with the pathfinder system.
Umm... is that enough? I'll let someone else throw out some suggestions now! =P
Wow, would you like to write that article, or series. I don't know if I ahve the time.
By the way, I've already received a couple of submissions and I'm hoping for may more as time nears the 24th, Thanks everybody.
