Mirage of Lakes

By Flamethrower50, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Does the Mirage of Lakes Mythos card (the environment that says you can only move on the black arrows) mean you can't move in Dunwich? The card states that "When Investigators move from one street to another, they may only move in the direction of the black arrows. Locations may be entered normally."

To me, this seems like the only street movement you're allowed to do is on the black arrows. This allows you to move from Blasted Heath to Village Commons, but that's it. It handily traps investigator in Backwoods Country. Does that seem right to you guys? There's only one black arrow in Dunwich. Harsh, but that's how the game goes sometimes.

Yep, its tough being in the Backwoods of Dunwich.

Of course it doesn't stop you wandering back and forth between the Backwoods locations until you are knocked unconscious or sent insane.

Yep, you read it right. Either take the Patrol Wagon there or find another means to escape if you can't wait on the weather to change.

Yeah, the KiY expansion was surprisingly designed with some elements of previous expansions in mind (references to Another Time and Detriment cards), so there's a good chance the designers knew very well that investigators in Dunwich could be stymied.

Life's rough in rural Mass.
