Income manipulation

Quick 5 Questions about income manipulation.

Tywin Lannisters Text box reads:

At the beginning of the marshalling phase, take 2 gold from the treasury and place it on Tywin Lannister.

You may spend gold tokens on Tywin Lannister as if they are in your gold pool.

Taxation Phase Rules read:

All players simultaneously move any unspent gold tokens in their gold pool back to the treasury. After all players have completed the Taxation phase, a new round begins and play cycles back to the plot phase.

1- Ok so the way I read this, Tywin Lannister is immune to the taxation phase, and every marshalling phase he gets 2 gold tokens placed on him. So If you do not spend it it stacks? Is this correct?

Rains of Autumn PLOT card text box reads:

Characters, locations, and attachments do not provide income bonuses this round.

The rule book states income bonuses are cards with the Gold circle with a +X printed inside.

2- So is Tywin Lannisters ability an income bonus? The way I read it, it is not considered an income bonus.

Knights of the Hollow Hill AGENDA text box reads:

You cannot place cards during the setup phase. Other cards you control do not provide a gold bonus. Your house card gains +2 gold, +2 influence, +2 initiative.

3- So does KnotHH stop Tywin Lannisters ability? If my understanding is right I would say no. Due to the rule books definition of a bonus.

4- In the text of KotHH it says no other cards you control provide a gold bonus. Does this mean your PLOT cards as well? Once again if my understanding is right I would PLOT cards still produce income because according to the rule books definition a bonus has the +X.

5- Rains of Autumn PLOT card says characters, locations, and attachments do not provide income bonuses this round. So the KotHH AGENDA gives those stated bonuses to your house card. Rains of Autumn therefore does not affect the KotHH AGENDA? Do I understand this correctly?

So If I am right I could play Tywin Lannister while running KotHH AGENDA and get 4 gold + PLOT card each round, and to catch up for the lack of a setup phase I could play Rains Of Autumn as a PLOT card without further negating KotHH and / orTywin Lannister. Best play to nuetralize the lack of setup with the KotHH AGENDA would be to play Blockade as my first plot card, possibly followed up by Rains of Autumn as the next rounds PLOT card.

Thanks in advance for any comments...

1 - Correct. Tywin's gold doesn't get taxed.

2,3- Tywin's gold isn't a gold bonus, it's gold. KotHH doesn't stop Tywin.

4- Your plot card doesn't have a +X, it just has an X. So it will still produce gold.

5- Virtually nothing can affect an Agenda. The plot mentions characters, locations, and attachments. Your Agenda is none of those three things, so Rains of Autumn won't hurt it.

Doesn't change the answer in this particular situation, but it is an important point to note.

Yes, especially since Alliance (the agenda, not the plot) entered the card pool. I bet there are still quite a few players out there who just habitually knelt their agenda for KotHH's Influence, because it didn't matter anyway, and have not yet realized that KotHH is getting a bit screwed against Alliance decks.

Since i played it wrong for a while, just wanted to point out: for the same reason that gold on Tywin is not subject to taxation, it does not count in dominance either.

Does the -1 gold from Burned and Pillaged count as a gold bonus?

Yes.

I suppose you could define it as an "income penalty" instead of an "income bonus," but for all practical purposes, anything that affects 1 affects the other.

Thanks for the answer.
