Bionic Arm - Weapon integration?

By tchu2, in Black Crusade

Hi folks

I've been playing and GMing Deathwatch for almost a year now and in that time I've helped work through crafting and cybernetic ideas our players had. Now I have a request for a bionic adaptation that I want to make.

My Heretek has a bionic arm which I would like to be able to craft into a weapon. The mechanics behind it are from Ghost in the Shell where there is a terrorist who's right arm reconfigures into a ranged weapon.

I was thinking of incorporating a bolt weapon design, with a low clip count (the arm itself is capable of holding ammo anyway). Spend a half action to flip the arm from weapon to limb and visa versa. The motors and parts of the arm will function as parts of the weapon when in that mode so it could be a compact design.

What I'm asking you all however, is how I might go about this?

I would appreciate any suggestions and/or help you can give.

You could always use the concealed weapon bionic from Dark Heresy's Inquisitor's Handbook p.138. I believe that putting weapons into bionic arms was one of the original intentions of it.

Ah excellent. That should make sorting it very simple. Thank you.

There is an Example of a Skitari Cyber Weapon in Lure of the Expanse Adventure from Rogue trader. It has a Hellpistol and a compact Grenade Launcher inside of a Cybernetic Arm.

Adding a single weapon seems doable, if it's a pistol type, and you could make and arguement for a compact Basic-type weapon instead (or two compact pistol-types.) All of those seem to fit with the already published source.

or discuss with your GM the possibility of being early stages of the obliterator virus which limits what it can do and is currently only affecting your bionics
