Hi,

I propose you my wilfire and my US walker prototype for inspiration.

I like the custom walker, great use of an Ork Dredd! But a 17 pound gun and a napalm thrower is a bit much!

But realy, it looks very cool. although, with the barrel shaped torso, it would make a great Russian walker too!

Thanks for your interest.
Effectively the 17 pounder is too much, i will try to make an other weapon, maybe a 75mm short or a 37 mm.

You could make it a 75 mm HV like the Hellcat tank hunter had, better than a Sherman, not as good as a 17 pounder. just cut about 3/4 of an inch off the gun berral and re-use the muzzle break, stat it like 1 AD less than the 17 pndr against tanks, and 2 AD less against troops. And instead of a full strength napalm thrower from a hot dog, make it closer to and infantry style flamethrower, but with range 2.

That would make it versatile, but not too powerful. kind of a jack of all trades-master of none. Just my 2 cents worth!

I am, however, totaly stealing your design to make a Soviet walker! one arm a claw from a Luther, and one arm a cut down 88 to represent a KV's 76mm gun (stats os a Luthers 20mm- so basicaly a russian Luther)

the walker looks great. Maybe a phazer cannon instead of the napalm thrower can be an alternate version.

You're right, phaser is nice option.

As you can see, i changed the pounder for an other weapon, here a 76mm (Sherman M4A3 (76) W)

would you happen to have a couple of Medium Walkers to stand it next to, for size comparison? If you would post a size line up pic with the Light and Medium walkers, I would be eternaly greatfull!

I REALY want to build one of my own, but I dont want to invest in a GW Dredd without knowing how it fits in, size wise. I am thinking of doing 2 or 3 for a Russian force ( I would use them with the stats of Axis units- a Proxy army in effect ),. Maybe use Imperial Gaurd Sentinals for light walkers????

Have fun blow'n stuff up!

Don't invest in complet Ork's dreadnought, you can buy legs and torso in a famous online auction website, for nothing.

My first idea was to make a japanese version and i will try it but i need japanese or chinese tank parts.

Its a little smaller than I expected, compared to the other medium walkers.

Would you count then as Medium, Armor 4, like the pounder or ludwig, but with 3 HP instead of 4? To reflect the relative smallness of the chassis?

How do you see them used in a game? Whats your vision?

My first idea was to create a medium walker with two weapons like a US Luther , but when i received the model and that i saw the scale, something in my projet was wrong.
Clearly, is a small walker chassis but it can carry the most light weapons of the medium walkers and of course weapons of light walkers.
It's not a tanks killer but its role is to support the advance of the infantry, maybe his 76mm is still too much for its size.
His small size allows it to carry on a plane or to drop by parachute
I see this walker like M22 tank (Locus) used for airborne operations.

My next (and not first )project will be a Japanese version with 2 flak 43.

It looks awesome, and I think the gun looks fine, It looks big on its small chassis, but then you see it next to a medium walker and you can tell its not a 17 pndr.

You gave me the idea to make US Marine version, to airdrop behind the lines of a beach-head, Normandy style. Armed with a 75mm and a double barrel 40 mm Navy Bofurs AA gun, an iconic navy weapon,( not sure if I spelled that right. ). Or maybe model a tank snorkel for landing craft deployment. I could see a couple of dozen of these, quietly striding out of the moonlit ocean onto an Axis controled beach like giant, sea-weed covered Navy Seals!

Thank you SO MUCH for the insperation! That is the coolest conversion Ive seen that I might have the skill to do myself. I will eventualy get a camera that doesnt make all of my photos look like carpet stains, and then I will post my version of your creation!

Have fun blow'n stuff up!

Thanks for your interest and your enthusiasm, I look forward to your models.
