Suprise attack in dragon tower?

By Fredrik Winde, in Talisman

Weel, as the topic said, does this card really work in the dragon tower? If a character rolls a 6, the dragon drops the character 6 spaces in to the tower?? giving the character the chans of avoiding all the spaces.... very strange??

suprice attack : a dragon grabs you and drop you to the ground! roll 1 die and move that many spaces counterclockwise, then lose one life.

Counterclockwise is against the arrows, so it's always towards the "exit" of the Inner Region / Dungeon / Highland. So, actually, it could boot you all the way to Middle Region if you get the card early enough in the zone. It won't get you further in.

yes of curse, its in the rule book ;) .................but still does this card realy have any effekt in the tower? this makes a character to be forced all the way back?

Yes, it has full effect in the Tower. However being "forced back" X amount of squares by this card, misdirection, etc... isn't the same thing as "turning back". Meaning, you take the hit and lose X amount of squares, but you're not forced to turn back all the way to the Plain of Peril (unless X squares boots you back that far back, or worse, out to the Middle Region). On your next turn, if still in the Inner Region, you can start trudging back to the centre. If booted out to the Middle Region, you have to roll AGAIN to open the Portal of Power, and make your way in.

The flipside applies too, though. Any cards drawn in the tower that give you a reward of "1 STR, CRA, Life, Gold, Fate or Teleport to any other square in this region" can be used as an instant ticket to the centre if drawn in the Dragon tower.

It works both ways, so it's fair that way. Hence why I like it.
