I have all the expansions and had put them in regular Ultra Pro sleeves, but after getting FF sleeves for War of the Ring, I can see that they fit much better. According to the page, it looks like it would require 36 large packs of sleeves and 24 small ones to re-sleeve everything, but I know that sometimes the numbers aren't quite accurate. For example, they said it took 3 packs for the War of the Ring main game and 3 for Battles of the Third Age, but it's really like a little over two for each, so I'm not sure if I can adjust my estimate down. Also, FF says I have to contact sales for more than 20 packs...
How many sleeves would I have to buy to put EVERYTHING in sleeves?
Just look at each rule book and make a tally of the total amount of Ancient One cards (Standard American), and the Investigator card (Mini American), and divide by 50 to give you the right number of packs you need. You can find all the rulebooks online here:
http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite_sec.asp?eidm=6&esem=4
Also, you can order sleeves from some other online store for a discount, and probably have no problems ordering more than 20 (if you actually need that many).
Thank you. I haven't looked at the lists in the rules for a long time and forgot that (other than Miskatonic Horror) they broke the cards down by Investigator and Ancient One before further subdividing.
For the record, if someone has all of the expansions, the card totals that I get are 1035 (21 packs) for the small (Investigator) cards and 1546 (31 packs) for the large (Ancient One) cards. If someone does not have an expansion, the totals are broken down as follows:
Original Game
189 Investigator Cards
179 Ancient One Cards
Dark Pharaoh (original)
76 Investigator Cards
90 Ancient One Cards
Dark Pharaoh (revised)
76 Investigator Cards
90 Ancient One Cards
Dunwich Horror
152 Investigator Cards
180 Ancient One Cards
King in Yellow
76 Investigator Cards
90 Ancient One Cards
Kingsport Horror
112 Investigator Cards
207 Ancient One Cards
Black Goat of the Woods
90 Investigator Cards
88 Ancient One Cards
Innsmouth Horror
96 Investigator Cards
176 Ancient One Cards
Lurker at the Threshold
56 Investigator Cards
110 Ancient One Cards
Miskatonic Horror (if I added right)
112 Investigator Cards
336 Ancient One Cards
I toyed with the idea, but the costs were horrendous
One of the rulebooks (I don't remember offhand which one) incorrectly lists the number of small and large cards. Below is the count I get. I have AH (Revised Edition), plus all 8 expansions (CotDP is the revised edition). I also include the 7 AH replacement cards that are in Dunwich Horror in this count.
Expansion/Small Cards/Large Cards
AH-Revised/189/179
CotDP-Revised/76/90
DH/152/180
KiY/76/90
KH/112/207
BGotW/90/88
IH/108/164
LatT/56/110
MH/112/336
Total Small Cards: 971 / Total Large Cards: 1,444
So you would need 20 packs of FFG yellow and 29 packs of FFG green to sleeve a grand total of 2,415 cards.

eh, why? you're not supposed to use both those and the cards from the AH revised edition, as that'll make an influx in your flesh wards and lanterns etc.. so there's really no need to have those extra 7 cards sleeved. (except for storage, i suppose.)
Taurmindo,
Some of us incorporate everything...just like elements from the original CotDP with the new one. I've included the Lanterns, Healing Stones, etc.

I have both versions of Curse of the Dark Pharaoh and, even though I like the new one, I also like the old one, so my numbers include both versions.

Because his question was how many sleeves he needed to sleeve everything . I simply added that clarification as some people may toss the original versions of those 7 cards. I simply keep the original 7 stored in a different section of my storage case.
And just for an update, I am now sleeving EVERYTHING. Of course, I did have everything in sleeves already, but they were Magic-standard and so the cards slid around (it was awful) and the small cards were Magic-standard sleeves that I had sliced with a paper cutter and so the edges were uneven.
This meant that I had to take everything out of sleeves (one expansion at a time) and then re-sleeve them. It has taken me several hours but at present only Lurker, Dark Pharaoh and Dark Pharaoh revised are left.
Answer: A crapton!
Seriously - if you opt for the premium sleeves the cost to do this will be exorbitant as Razrael suggested.
You could buy a new copy of the game for that price.
Or a another game.
Either go for the cheaper sleeves or don't bother - that's my take.
I've sleeved all the cards in FFG sleeves + the investigators, GOOS and heralds in postcard sleeves. I've also sleeved all the monsters in coin sleeves.
I'd recommend this to anyone as I've not regretted it.
(Of course if you don't play AH that much - you may be better off spending the money on a new game).

The only sleeving I've done is for the monsters using coin sleeves which I thought necessary given the wear & tear on them when drawing from a bag.
I think a question one has to ask before undertaking this is WHY you are sleeving.
If you are doing this so others don't get grubby fingers on the cards and you are comfortable with paying up to the cost of the game to do so then by all means go for it.
If you are to prevent wear and tear then why not opt for cheaper sleeves and sleeve the most frequently used cards? Of course this depends on how frequently you play - I manage a game maybe once every 4-6 weeks or so.
While I do sometimes like to think of myself as a bit of a materialist and tend to treasure my possessions I have to draw the line somewhere - it's a game not a museum piece.
If my game gets worn out I'll just buy another. And besides - what if I do TOO good a job preserving it and FF releases a 3rd edition of AH?
Nothing is forever after all.
I tried cheaper sleeves but didn't like the feel of them.

Fair enough!
I recently sleeved my first set of cards - Chaos in the Old World using the the basic Mayday Games sleeves because I didn't like the texture of the Chaos cards.
Problem is after sleeving the cards a bit TOO slick now, and the fit of each sleeve appears to be slightly larger than the height of the card.
I guess I'll have to get used to it I suppose.
*Shrug*
It actually only cost about $150 for premium FF sleeves for all the cards, and that's including shipping and the fact that I bought 34 big and 22 small because I ordered before doing a careful count. I had 3 large packs and one small pack left unopened. $150 for sleeving the main game, Dunwich, Innsmouth, Kingsport, KiY, Dark Pharaoh (both versions), Lurker, Black Goat and Miskatonic is a LOT cheaper than buying extra copies of all of those games, and frankly I don't think it's that much.
If a new edition of AH were to come out I just wouldn't buy it at this point. I like the game that I have but am unlikely to sink money into an entirely new iteration of the game. Besides, FF seems to have a very good take on the consumer market for these games and realizes that doing that sort of thing turns people off to their brand. Look at how careful they were with the Dark Pharaoh revision. They deserve a *LOT* of credit for that, at a time when other companies (WoTC, for example), alienate fans by constantly "revising" games.
I guess it gets down to your mindset, but I see games as (1) a fun pasttime, (2) a collectible and (3) something I want to pass on to my children. Fantasy Flight is one of the only companies that still produces physical games, and I don't know how many companies will be out there, say, 20 years from now.
I've just been buying them as I go along. I know that people that have all of the expansions already would have to pay lots of $ at once to do it, so I can see where the hesitation would be.
