grenades & missile rule question

By OrfeoCulzean, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

Hy there,

I have a question about grenades as I seem not to find a detailed enough descritption in the rules (maybe I am blind).

What is the difference between grenades and missiles when using grenade launchers / missile launchers ?

Can missile launchers also using grenades to fire ?

If yes, why are there also missiles to buy in the IH ? Are grenades for missile launchers more expensive ?

If no, why are there launchers in the core rulebook but no missiles ?

Would be very thankful for your help / advice ?

Generally range. Missiles, unless otherwise specified, are just grenade stats with very long range.

No, you should buy ammo specifically for them.

If no, why are there launchers in the core rulebook but no missiles ?

You can use the grenade types as a base for missles, just use the launchers range.

The way we do things is that all ammo is bought for a specific weapon and is not interchangeable. The GM will roll to see if any two particular weapons use the same ammo and that will define things for us. Grenades must be bought either as hand grenades or for a specific launcher or as a type of missile. My groups don't allow all ammo to be interchangeable, a galaxy of guns has a galaxay of different ammunition types.
