I`ve enjoyed Weird War 2 games for many years now and seldom get bored with them, but one of the pit falls of these alternate history games is that they some times leave out altogether the nifty real items that come out in the 1950`s. Advances in A.F.V`s alone were superb as the Korean War arrived. The time lines are already set at 1949 in Dust games , and I`ve not yet found a time line Event Calender. I guess the guys at F.F are playing the Warmaster Card as its their game but I wonder how the World of Dust will turn. Many 1952 vehicles were at prototype stages in 1947, with Dust 's English Invasion Plans coming out shortly ,if you imagine it would be quite conceivable that you could use a ferret scout car mark 2 in this conflict. I am sure all of us can imagine vehicles that increased technology would allow an earlier entry into the time line. What say you all?

As for the direction DT and DW will take in the future, i dont know, but I'm excited to find out!

I dont want to start another " why cant we use tanks!" argument, so I wont go there, but as for the real world technology breakthroughs of the late 40s and early 50s, I have a couple of thoughts.

In real history, when Germany lost the war, a huge amount of expirimental technology from the Third Reich was quickly snapped up by the US and Russia. Rockets, jets, and all sorts of stuff. That plus all the inovation the war itself had given birth to created a military leap forward in the coming decade. In Dust, that "tech clearing house" from the fall of Germany never happens, so you wont see hundreds of Nazi scientists being press into service by the other powers with reams of notes and plans and such.

On the other hand, the innovations by the US and the British, and the other nations because of the war would have continued, and even grown ( including in Germany!) add to that the influx of "strange" tech from some "other" source, and I think the tech of DT's 1950 will look very little like the real one!

Allied tanks with LAser or Phaser turrets! Walkers that can fly not just jump! Hover vehicles ( arent flying cars a staple of classic pulp sci-fi??) Soviet mind control weapons! Spychic super soldiers with hybrid alien DNA! The possabilities are endless, I'm so excited!!!
