I am new here, and so far have been unable to find any direct information pertaining to the situation of the Midnight Expansion for Runebound. I read through some of the pages of posts to find that some people have discussed it, but I have not found links that state one way or another from FFG. Has it been completely discontinued... or has there been any information stating that it will be re-printed? I wanted to build a runebound collection with a starting point of all the big box expansions, but I am having trouble finding one of these for sale.

i saw it today in the shop... so dont worry you can still get it.

its a pretty drastic change in game (never played it and dont own it YET) but i will soon

I wouldn't recommend it unless you are a completist and have to have everything...it's not very well balanced IMO and changes the base game too much, and doesn't fit into the core Runebound/Descent Canon either.

I have heard that a lot about Midnight, but does it stand strongly by itself as a "different game?" Or does it stray so much that it leaves a bad taste in the mouth?

From what I understand Runebound: Midnight is out of print, and there are no plans to reprint it. If you see it at a local game store and you want it, buy it. It may be your last opportunity.

As for game play, I can't answer that as I've never played it, though I always thought it looked cool.

i own it and its fun to play to a certain point if you have about 5 to six people playing its a blast but if you have less then that its its gets to hard for the heroes to win so its better if you have more people

I've never played runebound so please take this with a giant grain of salt.

My friend insists that playing with the Midnight Expansion is the best way to play Runebound as the game is drastically less fun without the antagonist working against the other people.

The official FFG answer to the Midnight reprint/rerelease question is no, they do not plan to reprint it at this time.
