I'm looking for brushes that keep a very fine a pointed tip, all the brushes i have tend to produce a flat stroke and I'm looking for something thinner.

Any good art brush can work for fine detail. You need to look at the brush, and see what kind of end tip it has.
Brushes come with flat, rounded, angled, and pointed tips, and a pointed tip is what you need for fine detail.
I've painted fine detail on a miniature with a size 1 brush, simply because it had a good point. For most people, a size 3/0 to 5/0 can give a very good point for detail work. For those who want to but brushes only for fine detail, they have them down to 30/0. I've never bothered getting a brush smaller than 10/0, and I used that for eye makeup.
I second the notion of a high-quality #1. It may look too big, but I use it for everything- eyes, basecoating, freehand rank insignia. It's actually better than a smaller brush for fine details. It comes to a needle sharp point, but has a big belly. The problem with a tiny brush is that it holds so little paint that by the time you've steadied your hands, gotten the brush into position, and have begun creeping the bristles toward the figure, the paint will have dried too much to flow. A brush with a larger paint reservoir will take longer to dry out, which helps in doing fine details. You just need to be certain you don't have too much paint on the brush, or that the paint isn't too dilute, or it'll floww too readily, and end up everywhere. Most well-known brush makers have a high quality handmade sable. I use Windsor & Newton Series 7 brushes, but mostly because my FLGS carries them, saving me a stop at the art supply store. Raphael and DaVinci also make good brushes. (But I don't know the series/line number of those brushes. Shouldn't be too hard to find out though.)
Windsor & Newton Series 7 brushes are worth every penny once you get to the point where you want a REALLY high quality brush and if you take good care of them, they will last a LONG time!
