*Mr. David Pan - Red Pole
3 cost | 4 skill | Icons:
Criminal.
When resolving struggles at a story that Mr. David Pan is commited to, count the total skill of all participating characters instead of the icons to determine the winner of each struggle.

Hi all, this might be a dumb question, but if he commits to a story alone (and with no defenders), do you still go through all the struggles even though there are no printed icons on his card?

Thanks!

Yes, you must still resolve each struggle.

The fact that Mr. David Pan doesn't have any icons doesn't matter, as you're using skill rather than icons to determine the winner of a struggle due to his special ability. As long as his skill is greater than any characters committed against him, a lone Mr. David Pan would win each struggle and resolve its effects accordingly. If at a story by himself and unopposed, he would score 3 successes - 1 for Investigation, 1 for Skill and finally 1 for being at a story unopposed.

At least, I believe that's right. Someone with more experience might come along and give this answer a thumbs up or down just to be sure...

You go through all the struggles regardless of what characters are there or what icons they have (provided at least one character is at the story). If nobody has any icons of a certain type, then that struggle will end up as a tie and nothing happens - this is common, but technically the struggle still happens.

Just further proof he is a bad ass.
