My group played the game for the first time yesterday, and had a blast. The first game we were pounced by 3 Cylon attacks in a row... we didn't shuffle the initial cards well enough, so it was a very short game with every Cylon ship represented on the board. ;-)
The second game, with better-shuffled cards, went much better, and we started to pick up speed and begin to understand some of the nuances of the game.
One question that came up is one which didn't have a clear-cut answer in the rulebook or FAQ, so I thought I'd pose it to the forum and see what the general consensus is:
A few of the crisis cards pose a choice for the president; either do one option and lose a bunch of resources, or the current player loses 3 cards and the president loses 2. What happens if the current player only has 1 card in their hand, but the president has 2 (or more)? Can this option be chosen, since the current player will be left without cards (and, potentially, the president too) which seems to run with the theme of the crisis card, or do both players have to have exactly those number of cards to engage that second option?
I'm trying to remember the crisis card's text from memory, so I may have it wrong, but you get the gist...
Thanks in advance!
