Putting Descendant of Eibon into play while Neutral Ground is in play

By jhaelen, in CoC Rules Discussion

What happens?

Neutral Ground:

Treat all neutral characters in play as if their printed text boxes were blank.

Descendant of Eibon:

Action: Discard 2 of your success tokens to put Descendant of Eibon into play from your hand or into your hand from your discard pile. At the end of the phase, if he is still in play from this effect, return Descendant of Eibon to your hand.

Does blanking the text box prevent the Descendant from being returned to your hand? I suppose not (because it was not blank when the Action was triggered?!).

I agree, it was not blank when triggered.

I agree too - the action would be in effect, which includes the return to hand. The FAQ tells us:

"Once an effect has been initiated it must be resolved (unless it is a triggered effect that has been cancelled by a Disrupt.)"
