A simple question about icons.

example: a Martell plays to a Greyjoy character "a prince's wrath" therefore the greyjoy character loses his icons until the end of phase. Then the Greyjoy player kneels driftwood crown on that character thus gaining an intrigue icon. What's the deal? Does he gains the icon or the lasting effect of the " a prince's wrath" applies and he doesn't have icons?

When you need to check for a card characteristic, you always start with the ink on the card, then you add any modifiers (positive and negative) and use the end result.

So it's X minus 1 intrigue icon (Prince's Wrath) plus 1 intrigue icon (Driftwood Crown). X is either 0 or 1 depending on whether the character has a printed intrigue icon. So the result would be X, because Prince's Wrath and Driftwood Crown basically cancel each other out.
