Let's say my Maester has been blanked by the effect of a challenge, but I still won it, so I'd like to attach Apprentice Collar to him... my question is, can I?

Frozen Moat states "Until the end of the challenge, treat that character as if its printed text box were blank." therefore The Maester's Path response takes place when the character still has to be considered blanked ("Response: After you win a challenge, attach 1 Chain from this card to a printed Maester character you control.")

FAQ now states: "(4.19) Printed Any reference made to "printed" be it cost, STR, icons, etc. only refers to the referenced item physically printed on the card itself."

Thing is, for the Frozen Moat effect, I should consider such printed text blanked, so in my opinion I shouldn't be able to attach any chain to that character.

Now, if someone better than me at solving conundrums could clarify if I'm right or not, and moreover, why... thanks in advance!

Here's the full analysis:

1. Blanking the character with something like Frozen Moat does not change the fact that the character has the printed Maester trait. So the Agenda's effect would still be legal. "Printed" is absolute and cannot be changed by card effects.

2. However, the character does not have the Maester trait as far as anything that does not refer to the "printed" trait, right? So the attachment itself, with its "Maester character only" restriction, would not be a legal attachment on that character, so you cannot attach it to the character.

So in your scenario, it is the "Maester character only" of the attachment, not the "attach to a character with the printed Maester trait" of the Agenda which stops you from moving the attachment from the Agenda to the blanked character. The Agenda might refer to the "printed" trait, but the attachment doesn't. The character you want to move the chain to will need both the printed Maester trait (as specified by the Agenda) and an effective, active Maester trait (as specified by the attachments).

But then I should be able to attach Apprentice Collar to a character with a printed Maester trait, even if that character's text box was currently blanked due to Frozen Moat or Nightmares, right?
