I hope I'm the only one playing my house so I can win TWO deckboxes!

Lol. Playing Neutral house? That might win you the Sansa prize.

Is there a Neutral house box, Dan?

Image isn't working sadly, would like a look at the boxes.

Well I was in all seriousness going to run Neutral and do my best to win.

Hmmm...I actually hadn't really thought about the neutral deck box, but I suppose there really should be. I'll have to come up with something...so *yes* there will be a custom "neutral" deck box.

Now I just have to figure out what kind of flavor to put on it. Likely I'll go with an assortment of Brotherhood, sellswords, and Night's Watch. (I never really considered Wildlings to be completely "neutral," they're basically their own faction as far as I'm concerned. In fact, it's strange flavor-wise when I see them paired with houses, though that's definitely the "competitive" thing to do.)

@Whizzwang: Here's a link to the image. Hopefully this works for you: https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0BxAvkuucRC6RZmU4ODI5MjUtNDJmNy00MzY2LTg3YWQtZTQ3NjdjMjgzMWZk&hl=en_US

I'm going to come right out and say this at the start. I will be surprised (and disappointyed) if we don't break the 2007 attendance mark of 22 players. Early response has been VERY positive and I think this will eb the biggest NYC event ever.

Wow, sounds awesome guys. Good job, and thanks for keeping this up.

~Did you know it was the very first Iowa/Nebraska Big-10 game?!? Arrrggghhh!

It is on my bucket list though (along with Germany and CaliCon). lengua.gif

@Erick: Awesome! Btw, you should let people know which house you're playing in advance, so that the experienced players can tech against you, and the newer players can avoid playing that house (to maximize their chances of getting a custom deck box)!

On an aside, the images above no longer show up for me...it appears to be on FFG's end, since I can still click the link and access the image of the deck boxes that way. Is anyone else having trouble seeing the images now? (Grrr...these forums!)

The images don't show up.

I'll be attending this year with a friend, and Luigi (lalchant) might be coming with me as well, he'll find out October 1st. I think this tourney might end up being better than GenCon.

Unfortunately, the Canadian's reperesentative (darknoj) told me they pulled out and won't attend because they're melee fanatics and there's no melee event.

Black Friday Melee!! We call it the melee at five points and whenever someone wins a bill the butcher look alike comes by and says "this is a kill"

Daniel Day Lewis FTW. He should have won an Oscar for that part.

Speaking of melee - where the hell have you been lately, BTW?

i'm pretty sure the newer players wouldn't care which house i play, since the chance i give away such a trinket to a new player if i win one is around 100% lengua.gif the only things i keep are the trophies

~and as to what house i'll play, it's always pretty easy to determine -- there are two methods:

(1) find the most solid and consistent deck in the environment, and note the house in which that deck resides, or

(2) ask corey what he would play if he intended to win the tournament, because it's likely he's already determined (1) through playing multiple viable decks from each house against himself 100+ times at his kitchen table

Brother i am sorry but this wedding is running my life. between venues and tuxes and favors and planning. i have no life anymore

I may still make it but most of the other Players from Ottawa that i play with like to play two events or if they had to chose melee....its weird i know....Orignaly we had though it was a two day event with melee and joust.

As the game grows in the area (and it is, though not as quickly as I'd like), we'll look at options for melee and joust together.

I should know in a couple weeks if I can make it. My girlfriend is in a wedding the next day in South Carolina. That may prohibit my attendance. I'm hoping the wedding is later in the day and I can work it out to make it to both.

Who is your girlfriend marrying? I kid! I kid!

~Why? It's a valid question.

If you are coming to Black Friday VII, please email your name and t-shirt size to [email protected] by tomorrow (Nov 16) as I need to finalize the t-shirt order with the print shop and having an accurate count for each size will help ensure we have one in your preferred size. Btw, the shirt's logo is this:

Man, I'm super bummed I can't make this one! Especially since this is going to be the best one, with Stags wearing a spiky blond hair and a giant sword!

Just realized you wrote this. :) I think the neutral deck box should just be a very plain cardboard box with no graphics on it whatsoever. It should also not have any openings.
